I hate to break this to you… But it's human nature to only think about things when you’re in the middle of a crisis.

We all know that feeling. Whether it's a natural disaster or some much smaller emergency, your heart drops to your stomach as you realize you're not as prepared as you should be...

And if you find yourself stranded or broken down on the side of the road, completely unprepared… your very life- could be at stake!

Did you know that when you’re in the wild, the #1 cause of death is not attacked by animals or accidents, but EXPOSURE TO COLD WEATHER?

Most people worry about poisonous snakes, mountain lions, or serial killers hiding behind bushes when they’re hiking…

But the chances of this happening in real life are pretty much zero, especially if you take basic precautions and don’t do anything stupid.

Unfortunately, people are too busy worrying about stuff that will never happen to protect themselves from the REAL killer…

Plunges in temperature that lead to hypothermia and eventually death!

In fact, HYPOTHERMIA (or exposure to cold temperatures) is responsible for over 1,300 deaths every year in the US alone.

Exposure to cold weather can occur in many ways.

It can happen gradually, as when someone gets lost and begins to experience hypothermia, or it can happen suddenly, as when someone falls into a cold body of water.

In either case, it is important to be aware of the signs of exposure to cold weather and how to prevent it.

What is the one ITEM that could be the difference between LIFE or DEATH!

As a courier, I always end up in far-off places. I've had to drive to the middle of nowhere to pick up a fare, and I've had to drive to the other side of the country to drop one off.

One time, I got stuck in my car because I was trying to sleep in it. I had been driving for a few hours and I was getting tired, so I figured I would just pull over and take a quick nap. I didn't want to stop at a hotel because I was trying to save money, so I thought my car would be fine.

Unfortunately, I underestimated how cold it would get overnight. I woke up a few hours later completely frozen! It was so cold that my car had frozen to the ground. It took me a few minutes to figure out what was going on, but once I did, I knew I was in trouble.

Luckily, I had an SOS sleeping bag in my glove compartment.

Yes, it is so small that it fits in my car’s glove compartment. I was glad that I had thought to pack it, even though I hadn't been planning on using it. It kept me warm all night, from my head down to my feet even in the coldest temperatures.

My water bottle was frozen solid, but I was safe and warm. I was very grateful for its warmth and comfort… I don’t know if I would have survived without it. Fortunately, someone did drive by a few hours later. They were able to give me a jump start and get my car going again. They were shocked when they heard how long I’d been waiting in the cold… it could easily have killed me.

Naturally, I told them about this amazing sleeping bag. It saved my life, and I am beyond grateful that I had thought to keep it in my car. Since then, I always bring an SOS bag with me whenever I travel, even if I'm just going on a short trip. I never know when I might need it again.

Like Susan, you will never know when you will need something like that, but if you have it in the time, you need it to believe me it will be a great difference in your day.
