My rules for paranormal investigations

So, I wanted to share this for educational purposes. You can use these rules if you want, and I definitely recommend that you do for your own investigations.

The reason I have these rules in place is so that it will cut down on something like possession or attachment happening. They're for the protection of all involved. Throughout this post I will explain why these are rules. So, let's get into it.

Rule #1 Sage, incense, palo santo wood, protection stones and religious items are a must.

During the investigation any type of protection stone and religious items such as jewelry will help you be protected from negative energy. I recommend anything with a cross on it.

After the investigation sage, incense or palo santo wood will help cleanse you and your car. You can also cleanse your house after the investigation. You don't have to use all 3, most people just use sage. I definitely recommend making a pass around yourself and your team with which ever you choose to use. I also recommend cleansing the inside and outside of all cars that will take the team home.

Rule #2: Leave the Ouija board at home.

I don't even recommend buying Ouija boards. Ouija boards are dangerous you are inviting something to touch you to move the pointer or planchette. This danger is amplified when you take it to a place that is haunted.

Rule #3: Do not threaten, challenge or taunt the ghost/spirits.

Saying things like "touch me, push me" or "if you are real then do this" will invite the spirits to do stuff to you now or later. Spirits will not play by your rules and will do what you ask whenever they feel like it, which is very dangerous. It will also give them permission to do whatever they want to you whenever they want.

Rule #4: Respect the space.

Don't move stuff or take anything from the space. If you go to a cemetery, try not to step on any of the graves or disrespect them in anyway. Also don't litter.

Rule #5 Don't ask a certain spirit or expect a certain spirit to come through.

When you do this, evil spirits will take that as an invitation to come through and possibly pose as your loved one or the spirit you want to come through.

Rule #6: Do ask for light, love and protection.

People think that the phrase light and love just refer to something religious, but it doesn't. When you ask for light, love and protection at the beginning of the investigation you are asking for the evil to stay away. Throughout the investigation you should ask for the spirits and energies that are of light and love to come forward and all others to stay away.

Rule #7: We will never trespass.

This is one is self-explanatory when we need to call ahead, we will.

Rule #8: We will only split up if necessary.

We will also have a fully charged phone on us if we do split up. This is a safety thing.

Rule #9: We will only go at night if we stay inside.

Safety reasons, you could fall and get hurt or get lost. Also, in summer there's snakes.

Rule #10 Alway bring chargers and batteries.

Noone wants a dead phone or spirit box.

Rule #11 Make sure someone on the team did research.

If there is a possibility that there are demons at the location, don't go.

Rule #12: Listen to the spirits and your instincts.

If the spirits tell you to leave, then you may want to listen. Also, if your instincts are telling you that something is wrong and that you should leave, something probably is wrong, and you probably should leave.

Rule #13: Be careful wearing anything that smells strong or makes noise.

Spirits use scents or smells to communicate with the living. They also use sounds. If you wear anything that smells strong or makes noise that might mess with that.

Rule #14: Don't break in anywhere.

Don't break the law period to do an investigation. The spirits may also be more aggressive.

Rule #15: Don't go into place that mainly have evil spirits or mentally ill people.

This should be obvious, but these spirits can and will hurt you. It doesn't matter how you protect yourself; they will find a way to hurt you.
