Love's Requiem is coming.

It's been a while since I've been back home (here on Vocal). As much as I have missed it here, I do have some exciting news to share! I've been working hard on a new book, which is due to be released next month!

My new book "Love's Requiem" is a vampire/horror/love story. But don't go thinking that it's a Twilight, sparkling vampire version, because it most definitely is not. This is hardcore, blood and gore. It's been rated 18+ and I couldn't be prouder of it.

The motto below (as seen on my website) pretty much sums it all up. I am a horror author, I do not write books for the young, the easily offended, or the faint of heart.

As an author, I fully believe that a good story comes from lots of research and a clear understanding of what you're writing about. I have spent hours upon hours researching Vlad the Impaler. I have studied Romania, homing in on fine details of the land and culture. This book has been almost 2 years in the making and professionally edited for quality.

This book was written with lots of time, dedication, sleepless nights, headaches, writer's cramps, and plenty of tears. I have devoted the past two years of my life to this story.

You'll begin the journey with Carolina as she's visiting her father's grave on a cold, rainy morning. There in the shadows, she meets Sebastian, a tall, good-looking, and very persuasive stranger. He plays on her sorrow and anguish luring her back to his apartment. He thinks that she's just another prey to add to his treasure trove of beautiful women, but there's something different about this one.

A whirlwind of events takes place almost instantly. You'll follow the pair into an ultra-modern loft, where Carolina begins to nervously think that she's made a horrible mistake. But when she discovers the velvet room, the candlelight and satin sheets cloud her better judgment as she finds herself making love to a man that she barely even knows.

After discovering his secret, she's already in way too far and willingly takes the bite; a promise of a life without limits, without pain, and most of all without heartache and misery.

Here's where the tables begin to turn, and Sebastian is starting to realize that he's the one who made the horrible mistake! Carolina is growing more powerful by the day, and she's butchering the entire town! The more powerful and gruesome she becomes; the weaker Sebastian finds himself.

As his body weakens and his special powers fade, he finds himself feeling emotions for the first time in eons; He loves her! This is strange and confusing because he's never loved a woman for more than her blood and nourishment.

She leaves him every night to go on the hunt for fresh blood. He knows he's not her only lover, she has many. This torments him and pulverizes his heart. He finds a sliver of solace in knowing that he's the one that she returns to each morning, even if she is covered in the blood of other men.

The townsfolk are hot on her heels, looking to execute her for the trail of dead men that she's left lying stiff and cold on the streets. Seeking refuge and safety, she believes that fleeing to Romania is the answer. But oh, was she wrong!

Descendants of Vlad himself (The New Order) have taken over the castle. They're publicly executing anyone who disobeys the throne. Using all of Vlad's nightmarish methods and adding their very own twist of gruesomeness. The Heretic's Fork, Flaying, Impalement, and The Rack to name a few.

Under the rein of The New Order, all vampires must pledge loyalty to the throne or else, die a humiliating and torturous death. Sebastian follows Carolina through the dark, eerie streets of Romania, trying to catch up with her before The New Order discovers her. However, he's leaving his own trail of blood on the streets, leading the pursuers straight to them.

Will he get to her before they do?

Will he die trying to save the one he loves?

Perhaps she remains one step ahead of him on purpose, is she deliberately luring him into the clutches of death?

Or will she turn on him and slaughter him herself?
