Black Flowers
In the wake of the night, the moon waxed to it's last crescent before its monthly darkness, Darius-Mayne sliced his finger on the edge of his page. He watched with unphased admiration as the crimson flowers blossomed across the dramatics of his true crime novel, the page cinching and curling as it damped with his blood. He let his non-sliced fingers skate their ways across the page, dancing alongside the deltas and estuaries that had started to divide this page.

The Killer Barn Owl
There once was a small village, a quiet village. The villagers loved to sing and dance during the nightly glowing bon fires. Like any village the people had to go to the river every day to gather water and hunt for food, but what they didn't know is that deep in the darkest areas of the forest lived a monster. This monster was no normal creature of horror but a vampire barn owl who flew the skies at night hunting for its prey.

“Elroy! Pick up the phone man! Where are you? You gotta help me bro. I don’t know what’s going on, but I need to get out of here. I need you to come get me.” A loud crash ignited in the background. The call began cutting off. “Please...get out...Harbinger Barn...help me...AHHH!”

Why Can't They Hear the Screech?
Juneau, Alaska – 1995 Aiden was pacing back and forth with his hands over his ears. He was trying as hard as he could to block it out – the sound that had haunted him for over a decade...the screech of the barn owl. His pace mimicked the waves beside him; they moved upon the shore and then recoiled. Though the darkness hid it, his face was red and his eyes were wet with tears. The horrific screech grew louder causing Aiden to drop to his knees. He pounded on the gritty sand beneath him and let out a scream. A scream that he thought only the waves could hear...

Three by Three
Three nights in a row, around the stroke of midnight, the horses in the barn would begin to get restless. Three nights in a row, I investigated the barn with no signs of what had stirred them from their slumber. And each night. over the course of three hours, their restlessness would get worse, until 3am came, and there would be a horrendous cry from the horses, and then complete silence.

The Mysterious Mr. Willow
Hard work continues to brew in these restless nights, the pounding of steel mashing against each other with tons of cranks turning and creaking echo throughout this cramped neighborhood. A nightmare at first, for sure, but it's almost as if it becomes a lovely symphony. A collection of instruments that all have a part to play to keep a song alive. In this case, Aaron Milano lives for the song, he glorifies himself as the grand conductor for a new masterpiece: America.

Cross My Heart and Hope To Die.
It all started in high school. The best or worse years of a person's life. There was this girl named Savannah and another named Brandy. Savannah had just moved to a new city and had enrolled in the new semester. New girl at the school. She did not have to do the embarrassing introduction speech. Brandy was born and raised in the area. Most of the people in school knew her from way back in the day. These two girls never had a class together, but they eventually had the same circle of friends. It was one of those times when everyone was hanging out and they happen to lock eyes. That was the moment things changed forever. Savannah was curious at first because Brandy was very attractive, but did not think anything about it. On the other hand, Brandy knew at that moment she had to get Savannah. Savannah would see Brandy more and more around in the hallways and hanging out with their friends a lot more. Eventually they began talking and getting closer. It was around December when they decided to make it official. For the rest of those turbulent years, there were many break-ups and make-ups. The girls eventually decided to focus on their futures and parted ways.

The Draw Knife
Jude awoke with the cold light of dawn. Slowly opening his eyes and blinking away sleep, he became aware of the chafing metal digging into his wrists. A thousand thoughts flashed through his mind, but none of them brought any clarity to his situation. Where am I? How did I come to be handcuffed on a barn floor? And above all-

A New Friend On A Silent Night
It had been quiet for too long. Melody ran her fingers through her shoulder-length chocolate brown curls. She paused, as her thumb ring had gotten caught in her hair. "Why do I do this to myself," she mutters as she pulls her hair out of her ring and attempts to smooth it back into place. It's still silent in the apartment. It was the type of quiet that unnerves you, that silence you can 'cut with a knife'.
