Things Unseen
My alarm goes off at 4 am on a Wednesday and I wish I could say it went off by mistake. I wish I had no reason to be up before the sun. I stare into the swirling darkness of my shadowy ceiling fan as faint moonlight slips through the curtains illuminating it just enough for my bleary eyes to see it move. Taking a deep sigh of groggy exhaustion, I roll over to check my phone. If blue light keeps you awake at night, surely it could help on this dismal morning.

A third visioner says, “There never were two but one. GIRL or WOLF, no one sees but knows.” How the story goes…depends on the night. Maybe there is one, maybe two, depends on who is walking and who is telling who. But, believing is what we do. It all depends on if you believe in what you feel or what you see.

Pulling into his driveway on a nightly basis had taken on a more ominous tone in recent years for Jared Smallwood. He wasn’t so concern with his personal safety in his neighborhood. There were a few unsavory characters around. For the most part though, his neighbors were hard workers who paid their taxes and put in an honest day’s work. The neighborhood’s downside was that there were frequent loud house parties on the weekend. When these parties did occur, Jared was often greeted by a young housewife at the door the following morning. With a cheery disposition, the young lady would apologize profusely for causing so much noise the previous evening. In addition, she’d promise to keep the noise down in the future. But in the eight years that he’d lived on the block that future had never seemed to materialize. However, his primary source of dread occurred was not out in the neighborhood, but rather when he stepped through his own front door.

The head of a woman, a kitchen maid, is just underneath the blade. A few strands of hair float to land on the kitchen counter. The girl spins to look at the source of the flying weapon. She screams.

A Filmmaker's Review: "Theatre of Blood" (1973)
This movie is a cross between a dark comedy, horror and more of a suspense thriller. Whatever the genre really is, doesn't really matter all too much because we already know what to expect when the film stars the likes of Vincent Price. In this film he portrays an actor who has been turned down by an elite society of critics so many times that he commits suicide. In his last act of revenge he 'comes back from the dead' to kill all of the critics who did him wrong. He uses the last Shakespeare plays he acted in to achieve this as he kills them all in these various ways.
