The Ledger
Thomas stared at the menacing blade in his hand. It ran with long streams of blood that dripped onto the floor and drummed a tale of what he had just done. He hadn't intended it to go as it did, but he imagined that many killers started this way; semi-accidentally. The victim hadn't seen it coming, and honestly, neither had he. The corpse on the floor was going to happen eventually, he just didn't plan on it being today.

Drainage Problems
Jane Lowell first fell in love with the wraparound porch that could have been teleported out of a magazine for house hunters. Circle of Stones
It didn’t look like much. Not what I’d expected at all. It was just a small, soft bound black book. The only thing odd about it was that it was lying in the middle of a stone circle deep in a forest. If you didn’t know what you were looking at you’d just think a hiker had lost their notebook.

Trial by Carpet
Sid squeezed the little ball of putty she kept on her office desk; she felt it squish between her fingers and smash between each knuckle. The House That Liz Bought
The first time Liz noticed that something was not right about her house was a few days after she moved in. She woke up in the middle of the night to a sound that she couldn’t quite place. Was that hissing? She felt her way out of bed in the dark and followed the sound down the hall, trying to figure out what it was.

Manifesting A Maniac
“Be right there,” Daphne huffed, in an annoyed tone. She placed her cellphone down onto her nightstand alongside her pillowtop, platform bed. Her mother had called her name twice, and she knew she better hurry to see why she was needed. It was the two of them after all since her father had recently left her mother for his assistant, six weeks ago. Her mother was overly stressed and taking most of her frustrations out on Daphne.
