The best Halloween movies are the ones that entertain and scare you, without turning into a nightmare. That is the reason why Scary Movies have always been one of the biggest hits every Halloween. "I am not quite sure what that means," she giggles. "But the first Halloween I saw was in theaters and scared the living daylights out of me!"

A Halloween movie that actually has something to do with witches and Halloween is Hocus Pocus. You either love it, or hate it, but this is one of those rare examples of a classic that doesn't try too hard to be scary. With a great blend of ghosts and magic, along with some great acting, this is one of those Halloween movies that are less about being scary and more about what makes us laugh. If you have a chance, watch Hocus Pocus; you won't be disappointed.

The Halloween Movie is one of the many horror films that have been produced. It is based on the story of The Craft. This series of films represent the horror genre that has been around for quite some time. Many of us are familiar with this particular genre and enjoy watching it. Others are not as familiar with it but have seen it several times.

The Halloween Movie is one of the few films from the early decades that do not attempt to do a lot with special effects or the fancy graphics of today's movies. Instead, it just makes use of practical effects and some good acting. No, this does not mean that the film is lacking in either. Rather, it simply means that the film uses elements that give the viewer a realistic sense of what they can expect to see on Halloween night.

The Craft is based on the true story of three young women who go on vacation and end up being possessed by the devil. They are forced to help him rescue his daughter from a mental institution and to do this he must possess a number of devilish artifacts. Along the way the film shows us the perils that can occur if one is possessed.

The movie starts out showers the night before Halloween. Our main character Ellen (Sigourney Weaver) goes out trick-or-treating with her friends. She is especially excited because she wants to meet "The Devil." Unfortunately, her friends have also decided to spend the night at a sleepaway campground. Ellen is terrified. Her friends begin to panic and begin screaming and running around the camp site in a state of terror.

One of the men dressed as the devil arrives and begins asking them questions about the women. Ellen is confused and doesn't know how to answer. The Devil then asks for their soul and asks them to leave this world. As the others stand there in fear, the Devil leaves and begins to possess one of them. Before anyone knows what is happening, the devil is on the woman and proceeds to take over her body.

The evil possessed woman now has a new name and she is living in hell. The entire townspeople are now afraid of this woman and they avoid her. The only one who seems to be drawn into her traps is the young teenager Michael ( Kristen Stewart ) who ends up going with her to the cabin where she spends her Halloween night. The two become fast friends and end up saving the night.

The movie has many popular scenes including Michael and Ellen racing through the woods after getting separated while trick-or-treating. They encounter the townsfolk and one of them, played by Edward Herrmann, attacks Michael with a knife but is knocked down by Ellen. This man then imprisons Michael and Ellen in the same room together but they manage to escape.

In the end the film reveals that the townsfolk were the instigators of the entire event. The Devil later appears in disguise to taunt Michael and Ellen but Michael manages to defeat him and the two escape. A year later, Michael and Ellen run into each other again and this time Michael sacrifices himself to save Ellen from being sacrificed by the Devil. This movie is very memorable as it follows the storyline well and leaves a dark and eerie impact on the audience. The Halloween movie classic is one that should be viewed by everyone and anyone should enjoy this movie.
