Haunted Roads

Creepy cars.

What lurks in the darkest roads, where nobody else is around?

This is a story which explores the urban legend of the mysterious ghost cars, that often appear out of nowhere when driving down lonesome country roads, motorways or expressways at the later hours of night, or early hours of dawn, when the sun comes down, or before it truly rises. The most common times when these ghost cars appear, are reported to be from 3-4am, otherwise known as The Witching Hour.

I believe that I have encountered these ghost cars for myself, when driving to work early in the morning, or heading work late at night. I have checked my wing mirrors to see empty roads, only for a vehicle to suddenly appear beside me, speeding at extraordinary speeds, from seemingly absolutely nowhere. Chances are, if the vehicle is modern, a sports car, super bike or a huge jeep, built from the last decade; that is likely some young hooligan, blatantly ignoring the road laws, racing so fast you can't even see them, until they are nearby. However, if the vehicle is vintage or rusted over and dented, then there is a chance, you just witnessed a ghost car for yourself. Do not fear if one of them speeds in front of you however, as they can not collide with you, as they are simply visions of a past tragedy. Perhaps these are not the traditional ghosts from occult belief, but the visual echoes of the past. Like how some sounds can still be heard, long after they have been emitted, reverbing from their empty surroundings. In other cases, some have claimed that your wing mirrors may show an oncoming vehicle, that is not actually there, perhaps they are picking up reflections of these visual echoes too. Some believe mirrors can be an eye into the underworld, showing things one would not normally be able to perceive with the naked eye. Like how certain photographs can often pick up the images of ghosts or other paranormal spirits, where these are invisible to the eyes of a human being. You can often find these strange occurrences near the sites of recent, or from long ago automobile accidents. Alongside ghost cars, some have heard the screams of men, women and even children, before the sounds of metal crashing into concrete, yet there seems to be no car wreck or any other automobile accident to be witnessed anywhere you look. Others have claimed to have seen the ghosts of victims, walking in the middle of the roads, causing much newer accidents to occur, when drivers swerve to avoid these mysterious strangers, they have often crashed and died too. Some believe these walkers to purposely cause new accidents, as a sort of revenge against the living, who they are deadly jealous of. This is why it is important to always drive cautiously, you never know what insidious presence is haunting those lonesome roads. So drive safely, always wear a seatbelt and don't fall prey to the strange spirits of these dark roads.

Perhaps you have also encountered these mysterious road ghosts for yourself? A clear indication of them being undead, is the fact these ghost cars emit no sound whatsoever. So, If you truly believe to have witnessed these strange spirits, please do share your story with paranormal investigators or even exorcists, as they can put these restless souls to rest, once and for all. It is very important that these ghost sites be cleared, as seeing an undead spirit while driving is obviously a very dangerous road hazard, that could just mean your own death! How would you like to forever haunt these spooky roads? It is not a fate I would wish upon anyone, not even my worst enemies!
