Forget Me Not (2009) is a Forgettable Disaster

'Forget Me Not' completely ignores its concept throwing horribly acted trash at viewers!

You never know how the past will return to haunt you.

Forget Me Not was dug out of its grave in 2009. Centered around a group of high schoolers who are about the graduate, they are haunted by vengeful spirits of their deceased classmates. As they grapple with supernatural forces, they try to figure out why these ghosts are after them.

What the heck was this movie? According to the synopses and 1 minute of the trailer, this movie is about the ghosts of bullies’ victims out for revenge. Forget Me Not completely ignores its concept throwing horribly acted trash at viewers!

A cast of twenty-something-year-olds plays unconvincing teenagers. These are the worst actors I have ever seen! Their line deliveries are so cringe-worthy that I wanted to stop watching after twenty minutes. We’re subjected to horrible teenage cliches of characters saying unrealistic dialogue, wearing terrible clothes, and flaunting their sexual lives to the world.

The characters, except Sandy (Carly Schroeder), are all one-dimensional. These are the most annoying people ever. They can’t stand each other either which is funny. These people are supposed to be the popular kids? Skipping about and playing hide-n-seek in a graveyard isn’t my idea of fun (or cool).

It’s too bad this film is the way it is because it overshadows the terrific actors playing the ghost zombies. They are the only redeeming quality of this abysmal movie! The ghost-zombie storyline is the best part of the film. They are scary! I kid you not, I was watching this film alone and their presence actually scared me.

The makeup effects are so creepy. It’s unfortunate that they are in a film like this because the makeup artists deserve praise. The effects used to create the zombies are surprisingly well-done given the state of the rest of the film. The editors also did a fantastic job with the zombie's fast-paced movements, creating an eerie effect.

Since Forget Me Not is (possibly) about dead victims of bullies then it should have been from their perspective. This film had no idea where it was going becoming a completely different film by the end.

It’s never established until the last 15 minutes of this painful 1 hour and 43 minute-long movie on who these people are. Why is this story about Sandy? The most important characters are the zombies, specifically Angela (Brittany Renee Finamore).

Sandy doesn’t tell her friends about her past until the last fifteen minutes of the movie! Why did we have to spend a torturous hour with annoying people who have no idea how to talk or even live their lives?

Writers didn’t care. They didn’t care that this movie is littered with plot holes. And if you haven’t guessed, it was boring. By deleting the first twenty minutes along with several annoying conversations and needless filler, Forget Me Not is a story about remorse.

Tyler Oliver’s direction was terrible and embarrassing, to say the least. Did he choose random people off the street to be in this movie? Forget Me Not could have been a memorable film instead of making viewers forget what they saw seconds after it ended. It had an interesting concept but nothing made sense.

Amidst this horrible written story, the moral is don’t mess with people. High school is a time when we’re trying to figure ourselves out. Make friendships that are worth your time and don’t become a bully.

The last 20 minutes is the movie. Do yourselves a favor and avoid this movie. You don’t want to be subjected to the worst actors you’ll ever see!
