I can sense our precious time is running out. The hour of our predestined meeting is upon us, and if I’m not careful, I will miss this golden opportunity that fate has delivered to me. Not even in our first incarnation, was such a moment available to me. Thrice, my destiny has been reincarnated and thrice I will hold her body in its dying throbs during this blessed lifetime. This chance cannot slip through my hands.
Just the thought of our joined destinies leaves me feeling aroused. The memories of lives we shared, each ending with my avatar pursuing hers, have me growing hard. Freda-Teri-Melody-My Muse, It doesn’t matter what name she goes by, my heart recognizes my soulmate, and the feelings she stirs in me are unbelievable.
As I followed her, I allowed my mind to roam fully expecting her to adhere to her previous routine after picking up her brown paper bag lunch from the diner. While I rode behind her, I imagined all the ways I could come upon her, and maybe how this lifetime, she’d allow me to gather her in my arms, instead of fighting me. I envisioned cradling her, surrounded by the scent of gardenias, while the precious life slipped from her. I pictured her lush, magnificent mahogany brown hair fanned around her beautiful head, as I lay her out in her final resting pose. Just the thought had me growing stiff with the want of her.
Without warning, she pulled to the curb outside of Thomasville Municipal Park. Grabbing something from the seat beside her, she jumped out and headed into the park, while I drove past intending to turn around and come back. By the time I parked my Ninja, and went into the park, she was already nowhere to be seen. Hastily, I rushed deeper down the first path, hoping I found her before she left and I lost her. I could feel the fear rising in me like a bile, afraid that I would miss my last chance with this reincarnation of my fated destiny.
In all my haste, I still moved with practiced stealth, learned from years of sneaking through Aunt Meredith’s three-storied Victorian mansion. When I was younger it was so I could steal a cookie before dinner. Then later as a teen, it was to watch my aunt dress or brush out her splendid mahogany brown hair and spray on her special Jungle of Gardenia perfume, through a crack in her bedroom door. So it was as much a surprise to my eternal love, as it was to me when I suddenly came upon her.
I rounded a woodsy bend on walking path c, and there on a bench overlooking the park’s manmade pond, sat my ordained beloved. Tears flowed freely down her cheeks as she stared at something in her lap. She must have seen me from her peripheral vision, for she looked across the pond towards me, startled. Then, with the speed of a whitetail deer, she leaped up, dropping what she had been holding, and dashed down the other side of the path, disappearing from view.
I rushed around the fabricated pond’s path to follow her. Seeing the paper that my providence had dropped, the urge to stop and grab it came over me. Stuffing the scrap into my pocket, I hurried on towards my predestination.
Exiting the park where we both had left our vehicles, I saw her rental BMW was gone. Panicking, thinking that she had slipped away from me, I started to cuss and make a scene before I remembered that she hadn’t brought any bags out of Marsha Cunningham’s house this morning, and I should check there before I got any more upset.
Getting on my bike, I put my helmet on. Before I kickstarted the engine, my curiosity bested me, and I decided to look at the paper my destined one had dropped. In my hands, I held a death certificate for Ramond Duskin, Sergeant Major of the Army. Gritting my teeth, I started the bike and took off. I had a prearranged date with Destiny, it was written in the stars and I couldn’t break the appointment.
