Dark In the Hotel

horror story

By karthiPublished about a year ago 3 min read

It was a dark and stormy night. The wind was howling outside, the rain was pouring down in sheets, and the lightning flashed intermittently, casting eerie shadows on the walls. Jane had been driving for hours and was grateful to finally see the sign for the hotel she had booked for the night. She pulled into the parking lot and made her way inside, grateful to be out of the storm. The hotel was old and rundown, but it had a certain charm to it. The receptionist greeted her with a smile and checked her in quickly. "You're in room 13," the receptionist said, handing her a key. "It's at the end of the hall on the left."

Jane made her way down the dimly lit hallway, her footsteps echoing on the worn carpet. The hotel was eerily quiet, with only the sound of the storm outside to break the silence. She reached her room and unlocked the door, feeling a sense of relief wash over her as she stepped inside. The room was musty and damp, with peeling wallpaper and an old-fashioned bed. She could hear the creaking of the floorboards beneath her feet as she walked around the room, unpacking her bags. As she settled in for the night, she couldn't help but feel uneasy. There was something about the hotel that made her skin crawl.

As she drifted off to sleep, she was awoken by the sound of something scratching at the door. She sat up in bed, her heart pounding in her chest. She listened intently, but the scratching had stopped. She convinced herself that it was just the storm playing tricks on her and settled back down.

But just as she was about to drift off to sleep again, she heard the scratching once more. This time it was louder, more insistent. She got out of bed and approached the door cautiously, peering through the peephole. But she could see nothing but darkness on the other side.

She hesitated for a moment, her hand hovering over the doorknob. But her curiosity got the better of her and she slowly turned the knob. The door creaked open, revealing the empty hallway beyond. There was nobody there, and she let out a sigh of relief.

But as she turned to go back to bed, she saw something move out of the corner of her eye. She spun around, but there was nothing there. She shook her head, convinced that her imagination was running wild.

She climbed back into bed and tried to get some sleep, but every time she closed her eyes, she could hear the scratching at the door. Eventually, she gave up and turned on the lamp, hoping that the light would ease her fears.

But as she sat there in the dim light, she began to feel a presence in the room with her. She couldn't see anything, but she could feel it, an oppressive weight bearing down on her. She tried to ignore it, but the feeling grew stronger and stronger until she couldn't take it anymore.

She got out of bed and made her way to the door, determined to leave the hotel and never look back. But as she approached the door, she saw something in the hallway that made her blood run cold.

There, at the end of the hall, was a figure. It was hunched over, its back facing her, and it was scratching at the wall with its long, bony fingers. She couldn't make out its features, but there was something about it that was deeply unsettling.

As she watched, the figure turned to face her, revealing a face that was twisted and grotesque. Its eyes glowed with an otherworldly light, and its mouth opened to reveal rows of razor-sharp teeth. She screamed and tried to run
