Cursed House

Evil Forces Residing In The House

By Harlia AmaliaPublished 13 days ago 3 min read

In a small, remote village in the middle of the forest, there is an old house that has long been abandoned. The village people call it the "Cursed House". No one dared to approach the house after sunset, except for those who wanted to cause trouble or just challenge their courage.

One night, in a simple house, three friends gathered, namely Adi, Budi, and Citra—decided to test their courage. They agreed to spend the night in the old house. Carrying flashlights and some supplies, they arrived in front of the house just at dusk.

"Are you sure we want to go in?" Citra asked, hesitantly.

"Ah, it's just a folk tale," said Adi, trying to hide his fear. "After all, we're already here. There's no turning back."

Budi, always a cheerleader, added, "Come on, this will be fun. Let's just say this is our last adventure."

Finally they pushed open the creaking door of the house, and darkness and a musty smell immediately greeted them. The walls were covered in moss, and the wooden floors were rotting. They turned on flashlights and began exploring the house.

As the night went on, the atmosphere became more tense. The wind blowing through the cracks in the window made a strange sound, as if someone was whispering. They arrived in a living room filled with old furniture and covered in thick dust. In the corner of the room, there is an old piano.

Budi, with great curiosity, approached the piano and pressed several piano keys. A strange, discordant piano sound filled the room. Suddenly, they heard footsteps coming from upstairs.

"Who's that?" Citra whispered, her voice shaking.

"Definitely just mice," answered Adi, even though in his heart he wasn't sure.

They decided to go upstairs. The wooden stairs creaked with every step they took. When they reached the top, they saw a long hallway with doors on both sides. Their flashlights caught a shadow moving quickly at the end of the hall.

"We have to check," said Budi with forced courage.

They walked down the hall, opened door after door and found only empty rooms. Until finally, they arrived at the last door. Carefully, Adi opened the door.

When they opened the door inside, there was a bedroom with a large bed covered with white sheets. On the wall, there was a large, cracked mirror. When they approached the mirror, suddenly the image of a woman appeared with a pale face and empty eyes. The woman whispered, "Go away... or you will be like me." while laughing softly.

Citra screamed and they all ran out of the room. However, when they turned around to run down the stairs they came up were no longer there. The floor beneath them turned into a huge dark hole.

"This is not possible!" Adi shouted, panicking.

Suddenly, the sound of sinister laughter sounded around them, echoing throughout the house. Shadows appeared from every corner, surrounding them. Budi tried to reach for the walls, hoping to find a way out, but the walls felt alive, as if refusing to let them go.

One by one, they felt a chill envelop their bodies, making it difficult for them to breathe. Citra fell to the floor, her body stiff as if someone was holding her. Adi and Budi try to help her, but they feel invisible hands pulling them into the darkness.

That night, the three friends never returned. The next day, the villagers found the house tightly closed, just as it had been before they entered. There was no trace of them left, only whispers and laughter that continued to echo every night from inside the cursed house.

The village now completely avoids the old house. Those who hear the story about Adi, Budi, and Citra know one thing: there is an evil force residing in that house, and anyone who tries to challenge it, will never return.
