Campfire Ghost Story

"The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window."

Sara Winters was hiking on the trails in Sedona Arizona. She reaches the cabin in the woods. and has been abandoned for many, many years. But on this night on her evening hike she noticed a candle was lit in the window. She got goosebumps just standing there just right outside the cabin.

All of a sudden she heard a noise and she jumped. She turned in the direction of the noise. It was a sound of a branch breaking from under a shoe. But no one was there. She decided to return home in the nearby town. As she was walking she had the sense she was being followed. She turned around again. But no one was there.

She started running very quickly without rest. And got to the main road. As it seemed what has been following her stopped and she was safe again.

She went into a shop nearby. and asked, "is there anyone in the cabin in the forest?" The store owner said that cabin has been abandoned for many many years. "That's what I thought said Sara."

Then the store owner said. "But you should not have trespassed so late at night. All kinds of creatures and ghosts surround the forrest at night."

"What do you mean by ghosts?" Asked Sara. Oh! Well I will explain the origins of the cabin. You see it was built over an ancient Indian burrial ground."

Sara gasped. "I'm glad you informed me about the cabin. But I saw a candle lit in the window. And when I looked for someone no one was there."

"That's because ghosts do not have bodies. They are spirits."So there could possibly not able to light a candle. Ghosts do not have hands and cannot light candles."

Sara said. "But I saw it."

"We are about to close shop in ten minutes. So you best go home now." Said the store owner.

Sara left the shop and went home. She was determined that somthing or someone was in the cabin and followed her through the woods.

Then as she got home. She had the feeling that something followed her home. As she saw a candle lit in her bedroom window. This caused chills down her body.

She went inside her house. And everyone was in bed.

She went nervously to her room. And saw it was an old lady sitting nearby. She was an old Indian woman. Then she met Sara's eye's ad she said. "It's very rude to trespass on someone property. Without permission."

"How did you know where I lived?"Asked Sara. "You have been going up to my house for several weeks." Answered the old woman.

"But I thought the cabin was abandoned! I didn't know anyone lived there.' Replied Sara. "So, why did you follow me home?"

"I have come to teach you a lesson" Little girls should not trespass in the woods at night. Then all of a sudden the old woman disappeared. Then she heard a voice that said. "If I catch you trespassing on my property again. I will feed you to the bears."

So, Sara never went to the cabin in the woods. For fear of being fed to the bears. She went to the library to see all the previous owners of the cabin and the newspaper said. An old Indian women used to live there. And she was attacked by a bear, and was eaten alive!

Sara never went there again. And felt sorry for the old woman. But she never saw the woman again.
