How I Started MagicBytes: The Story of a Mother and a Doctor Starting Over
Introduction I was a doctor. When I migrated from Afghanistan to the United States, I thought I could continue my career. However, my credentials were not accepted here, and to continue my profession, I had to pass several difficult exams and improve my English. I am a mother of children, and at that time, I had neither the financial resources nor enough time to study for the exams. Life became very hard for me. Since I couldnโt continue any of the professions I had in the past, I had to start over from scratch, not knowing where to begin.

The Lost Pages of Time
It started with an envelope. Old, yellowed, and sealed with a strange symbol Emilia Hart had never seen before. She was a quiet historian, living alone in Oxford, obsessed with ancient books and forgotten stories. Most days, she stayed buried in dusty archives โ but this letter changed everything. Inside was a message written in elegant, old handwriting: โ It didnโt say who sent it. But along with it came a single page โ part of a journal โ speaking of a book called the "Codex Obscura", a legendary text believed to be lost when the Library of Alexandria burned. Most believed it was a myth. Emilia believed it was her calling. She flew to Egypt within days, following the clue in the letter: โStart where the fire ended.โ At the ruins of the Library of Alexandria, now a modern site, Emilia teamed up with Tariq, a young Egyptian archaeologist. Together, they explored the basement of the new library. Behind a broken wall, they discovered a sealed room, untouched for centuries. Inside, they found burnt fragments of scrolls and a stone tile with the same strange symbol from the letter. One fragment had faint writing only visible under infrared light โ it was a map. A map leading to Venice. --- In Venice, beneath an old church built over Roman ruins, they discovered a hidden chamber inside a crypt. There, wrapped in silk and sealed in a metal box, was a leather-bound book โ ancient, cracked, and silent. It wasnโt just a history book. Its pages described events that hadnโt happened yet โ modern ones. A burning cathedral in Paris. A great flood in Asia. An eclipse predicted with perfect timing. But the page was marked: 1490. Emilia was stunned. โThis bookโฆ it knows the future,โ she whispered. Tariq frowned. โOr someone brought the future to the past.โ --- Soon, things turned dark. They were followed. Watched. Emiliaโs hotel room was searched. Then, another letter arrived: Emilia refused. Instead, the Codex revealed one last clue โ a drawing of Pragueโs Astronomical Clock and a line: โ๐๐ก๐๐ซ๐ ๐ญ๐ข๐ฆ๐ ๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ง๐๐ฌ ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ, ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐ข๐ซ๐ซ๐จ๐ซ ๐ซ๐๐ฆ๐๐ฆ๐๐๐ซ๐ฌ.โ They traveled to Prague, where an old librarian helped them find a hidden room behind the clock tower. Inside was a strange mirror, framed in bronze, glowing faintly. When Emilia looked into it, she didnโt see herself. She saw the past โ the burning library, people running with scrolls. She saw the future โ a girl holding a page of the Codex while machines marched in the streets. And then, the mirror shattered. --- On the floor lay one last page. A man in a gray coat entered the chamber. He wasnโt surprised. He introduced himself simply: โIโm a Custodian. We protect time.โ He told them the Codex wasnโt prophecy. It was a collection of future knowledge โ written by those who had seen ahead, then sent backward in time to be hidden. โWhy hide it?โ Emilia asked. โBecause too much truth too soon breaks the world,โ he replied. โHistory needs mystery to survive.โ --- Emilia returned to Oxford. The Codex was hidden again, deep in the walls of the Bodleian Library, in a box only she could find. She never spoke publicly of what she found. But each night, she copied one page by hand. Not for fame. Not for the world. But for the next person who might find a letter sealed with a strange symbol. The one that begins: And waits to be found again.

The Bare Truth: A Journey Through the Early History of Nudity. Content Warning.
Venus, Fertility, and Stone-Age Selfies Take a look at the Venus of Willendorf, a 30,000-year-old figurine carved from oolitic limestone. Sheโs naked โ very naked โ and sheโs not alone. Similar โVenus figurinesโ pop up all across prehistoric Europe, most with exaggerated features like wide hips and ample breasts. Archaeologists believe these features symbolized fertility, abundance, and perhaps the ideal prehistoric body positivity.

Two Decades of Dusk
For some, time is a straight lineโclearly marked by milestones, memories, and movement. For others, time becomes a fog. It is not felt in the tick of clocks but in the weight of unspoken days, in the stillness between seasons, in the way one shadow folds into the next. For me, time became dusk. Not quite night, not quite dayโjust a persistent twilight that stretched across twenty years of my life.
