North Korean President Kim Jong Un’s elder half-brother, Kim Jong Nam, had always spoken against the North Korean regime. In 2003, he was exiled from the country as punishment and moved to China, where he quietly lived his life.

Exiling his half-brother did not turn out to be a good decision for the North Korean president because, according to reports, Kim Jong Nam had allegedly become an informant for the American intelligence agency Central Intelligence Agency and was supplying them with information.

Kim Jong Un feared that the CIA might someday remove him and place his brother on the throne of North Korea to control the country according to American interests. This issue had now become a serious threat for Kim Jong Un — like a bone stuck in his throat that had to be removed.

On February 13, 2017, Kim Jong Nam entered Kuala Lumpur International Airport to travel from Kuala Lumpur to Macau. He had no idea that a group of assassins was already waiting for him at the airport.

A highly sophisticated plan had been prepared, similar to something seen in movies. A Korean man introduced himself as a TV producer and hired two women, telling them he was starting a comedy prank show. One woman was from Malaysia and the other from Vietnam. They were told that their job was to put oil on strangers’ faces and secretly record their reactions with hidden cameras.

To build the women’s confidence, the prank was actually rehearsed for months using baby oil. But neither woman had the slightest idea that this “prank” would one day destroy their lives.

On February 13, 2017, the so-called producer called both women to the airport to perform the same prank. As soon as Kim Jong Nam entered the airport, the producer pointed him out as the next target.

But this time, the liquid was not baby oil — it was a deadly VX nerve agent.

CCTV footage showed that one woman rubbed the liquid on her hands and then wiped it across Kim Jong Nam’s face. Completely unaware of what had happened, Kim Jong Nam reacted angrily. According to the plan, the woman laughed and quickly disappeared from the scene as if it were just a joke.

Kim Jong Nam returned to airport officials and informed them about the incident. He was immediately taken to the airport’s medical facility. During this time, a man in black clothes carrying a suitcase, who had been watching everything, came outside the medical center to confirm whether the poison had worked.

Within 10 minutes, the VX nerve agent took effect, and Kim Jong Nam died inside the medical facility.

VX is an extremely deadly nerve agent. Even a tiny drop on the face can enter the lungs through the respiratory system and immediately attack the nervous system. This stops neurotransmitters from functioning, meaning the body can no longer receive signals from the brain. Experts say that if a nerve agent is applied near the face or nose, a person’s countdown to death begins almost instantly.

Several people were involved in carrying out this carefully designed assassination. There was a chemical specialist who neutralized the poison on the women’s hands, a driver who helped them escape, and others who were reportedly monitoring and reporting the operation moment by moment.

After the incident, Malaysian police arrested both women. When they were informed that their prank had caused the death of the North Korean leader’s brother, they were completely shocked. By the time they tried calling the so-called producer, it was already too late.

Police stated that four suspects involved in the operation had taken shelter in the North Korean embassy in Malaysia and fled shortly after the murder through Jakarta, Dubai, and Vladivostok before finally reaching Pyongyang.

The driver, chemist, and the two women — who were allegedly used as pawns — were eventually released after spending two years in jail.

All clues in this planned murder ultimately pointed toward Kim Jong Un.

The Kim family has ruled North Korea through violence and fear for nearly 80 years. Kim Jong Un’s power is so absolute that, as people say, not even a bird can fly there without permission.

Money and privilege belong only to those loyal to the president. Ordinary citizens are tightly controlled and forced into obedience. Anyone who dares to criticize the government can face punishment worse than death.

Officials can also face severe punishment for disrespect. Reports have claimed that even falling asleep during meetings with Kim Jong Un could bring deadly consequences.

In North Korea, punishment may also extend to entire families. According to reports, if someone is accused of treason, even their relatives may suffer punishment.

There are also strict rules regarding hairstyles, entertainment, religion, and daily life. Possessing religious material can reportedly lead to severe punishment.

Because of these restrictions, many people describe North Korea as one of the world’s most tightly controlled states.

The question many people ask is: why does the Kim dynasty maintain such extreme control?

The simple answer is power. Dictators often fear that if they loosen their grip, the people may overthrow them. That is why Kim Jong Un continues following the path established by his father and grandfather.
