"You, Me & Tuscany"(2026) - A Sweet Rom-Com Getaway

This film is so much more than a rom-com.

Write your own pathways, not someone else’s.

You, Me & Tuscany flew into theaters in 2026. Anna takes an impromptu trip to Tuscany to find Matteo, a man she met in New York. Posing as Matteo’s fiancée to his family, Anna meets Michael, Matteo’s half-brother, and a different story happens.

These are the kind of films that I love. You, Me & Tuscany follows similar travel/romance tropes, but it is so much more than that. Sometimes, going on an adventure is all you need to find yourself and a new pathway.

Halle Bailey plays Anna, a young woman, getting back in touch with herself. Bailey is a wonderful actress. She has come into her own since starring as Ariel in The Little Mermaid (2023). Bailey said that she resonated with the role and how Anna reconnects with herself.

After a series of impulsive decisions and grieving her mother’s death, Anna finds herself in Tuscany - pretending to be someone she’s not. Bailey makes Anna’s journey feel like a genuine growth story.

Originally traveling to reunite with Matteo (Marco Calvani), a different love story happens with Michael, played by Rege-Jean Page, from the Netflix series Bridgerton. At first, I thought Michael would be arrogant, Page added more to the character, making Michael kind and sensitive. The story’s sensitivity is what drew Page to be in the film.

Bailey and Page have striking chemistry, which makes their character interactions feel real. They take time to get to know each other. My favorite scene was when they were running through the vineyards.

An assembly of characters join the movie as Matteo’s family. They each have different personalities and are so warm to Anna. Credits include Marco Calvani, Isabella Ferrari, Stella Pecollo, Paulo Sassanelli, Stefania Casini, and Emanuele Pacca.

Claire (Aziza Scott) and Aunt Francesca (Pecollo) win the Best Supporting Character awards. Francesca is caring, outgoing, and has dirty mouth. She reminded me of my late aunt. Scott adds all the sass as Anna’s best friend. Despite being in separate countries, Claire still helps Anna. We could always use a supportive aunt and best friend.

Credit also goes to the actresses in the tour group who had the best time improvising there scenes. No matter how small your role is, make the best of it. You always make an impact.

You, Me & Tuscany was directed by Kat Coiro. She directed Marry Me (2022), a similar romance film. What drew her to You, Me & Tuscany was its genuine romance story. She brings heart to this film. Based on behind the scenes, everyone had a good time working on the film.

The story slowed down in the second act. I didn’t find Matteo and Michael’s barrel race necessary. Based on what Michael has said about Matteo, this scene took away from the story. Everything also worked out too easily in the end.

You, Me & Tuscany is not just a romance film. It’s a story about second chances. That’s a relatable storyline. Eventually, we will find ourselves again. As characters advice, don’t waste time living someone else’s story. Write your own pathway.

If only you could jump through the movie screen to join characters on their destination. Filming occurred in Tuscany, Italy. Real vineyard locations were used. Filmmakers spoil audiences with gorgeous locations and all the delicious meals. Coiro worked closely with local chefs for each meal that was served.

I had big smile the whole time seeing You, Me & Tuscany in theaters. This is the kind of movie we need right now. It’s a lighthearted rom-com that takes audiences on a needed adventure. See it in theaters.
