The Jerome siblings

William deVry has been as open and honest as he can be with his fans regarding his General Hospital exit. Anyone who follows the actor on Twitter knows that he is engaged with his followers and their Tweets indicate that they love the actor as well as his character. Julian Jerome had grown on the viewers and many have empathy for his plight and his numerous faulty decisions. At the end of Tuesday’s episode, Ava’s brother was lying on the ground in the rain near the Cassadine estate. When one Twitter follower asked if this were deVry's final scene, another answered that Julian is probably alive and won’t exit until Friday.

deVry liked this comment and that has tongues wagging. Now GH viewers believe that Julian will escape and leave Port Charles forever. William deVry has said that once he is written out of the ABC daytime drama, he will not return. This leaves the door open for a recast down the road. Longtime fans will recall that Julian returned to Port Charles having had plastic surgery and a new identity. He came back as media mogul Derrick Wells and his true identity was revealed later. It’s looking like deVry may have been sacrificed so that Maura West’s character can be redeemed.

Fond memories

Ava had fallen in love with Nikolas and is now attempting to live life on the straight and narrow path. When she held the gun on her sibling it was clear that Ms. Jerome had weighed all of her options. Ava decided that it was better that she kill Julian quickly to prevent him from being tortured by Sonny or Cyrus. When Sonny and Jason walked in and saw the gun drawn on Julian, Ava could not have planned it better herself. Now Sonny knows she was willing to kill her own brother and this will cause him to soften towards her a bit.

Ava will be able to spend more time with Avery and with Julian presumed dead, his family will be safe from Renault. Ms. Jerome/Cassadine can live in peace happily ever after with her prince. Soap fans know there really is no happily ever after for any couple but the premise sounds good. Sam, Lucas, and Leo will be off of Cyrus Renault’s radar and eventually, someone will take the drug lord out. In the meantime, Julian cannot remain on Cassadine Island. He has no resources and no one to help him now that Ava has turned her back on her brother. Some spoilers suggest that Nikolas might find him and help him get far away, but would he do this if he finds out that his brother in law almost killed his sister Lulu?

Julexis

This is a sticky situation and there appears to be no way out for Julian. Is it possible that he could hide within the catacombs and many rooms of the Cassadine mansion undetected? There does not seem to be a clear answer at this point but fans know that anything is possible on General Hospital. Helena Cassadine or Cassandra Pierce could turn up alive and whisk Julian away. He could be cared for in some unknown location for years and return at a later date, just like Jason. General Hospital has been able to keep a lot of facts under wraps and even alleged set insiders have gotten pertinent details wrong.

Final memories

Julian did not die in the explosion at the Floating Rib, Ava did not kill him, Nikols did not get him a new identity, and thus far he has eluded Cyrus, Sonny, and Jason. Viewers will have to continue watching and waiting to find out how William deVry exits the ABC daytime drama. Fans of the actor and his character are still in shock that General Hospital is letting Julian go. Best of luck to Mr. deVry in his future endeavors and kudos for his acting skills in his final scenes. The storyline has been tense, dramatic, sorrowful, and aggravating all at the same time. Knowing that the end is near is difficult for fans of deVry, Julian, and Julexis. Tears, tears, tears.
