Why You Are A Weeb

A Self-Help Article

Do you like beautifully illustrated storylines that capture the essence of humanity through poignancy, action, mystery, and/or virtually any other theme you could think of?

If you chose yes, congratulations, you are a weeb!

If you chose no, it seems you don’t understand the question and mean to choose yes, in which case, congratulations, you are a weeb!

The term weeb derives form the Greek, weeaboo, roughly translating to, western person who is obsessed with Japanese culture, especially anime, often regarding it as superior to all other cultures. (dictionary.com)

As for the superiority to all other cultures, humanity is one and inherently equal. With regard to entertainment in media, on the other hand, Anime is of top tier form, and dare I say, superior to most standards of visual entertainment.

Still don’t believe me?

I was once like you, floating in the lukewarm kiddie pool of mainstream media. I was content, for I knew nothing else. It was a blind man’s paradise. However, it wasn't until quarantine that I realized, I didn’t have to be blind any longer. For every kiddie pool of mediocre media, there is a tremendous ocean of transcendent anime wonder. This isn’t saying all non-anime media is confined to inferiority. There are many mainstream shows and films that I hold as some of the best humanity has to offer. I am merely pointing at the injustice of overlooking an entire sea of boundless bliss.

Perhaps it’s a product of ego. You think you are too good for anime. Is that it? Well I have news for you, you aren’t. No one is. We are all bound under the King’s throne, and joyfully so.

Below I have compiled a user friendly list of anime transitions suited for you and your respective tastes.
