Considering how unique all the signs of the zodiac are, it's pretty clear that each one influences their own distinct perspectives and interests. Each sign tends to be entertained by different things and have various senses of humour, so there is a broad spectrum of content that will appeal to individual signs based on their commonalities.

Netflix, being such a popular platform for TV and movies, gives us access to this wide variety of content - so to take advantage of that privilege, here are some recommendations for what you may enjoy watching based on the traits of your zodiac sign.

Read to the end if you think I'm way off base here!

Aries

Action/Adventure

Aries is considered by many to be the bravest sign of the zodiac and holds many fire sign related traits such as impulsivity and extroversion. At their core, they are the most blunt and outspoken of us all.

These individuals tend to enjoy action and adventure that is fast-paced and boundary-pushing. Often humorous as well with characters that are fearless and witty like a typical Aries. This tends to be the genre that they can relate to most and can evoke a sense of excitement and satisfaction in them.

TV Shows

What may appeal to an Aries are captivating series that evoke a sense of excitement and suspense in its audience. Anything that is high energy with many twists and turns will likely be a good choice.

  • Supernatural
  • Pretty Little Liars
  • Lucifer

Most have several seasons and the main characters in each show have very strong and confident personalities, reminiscent of an Aries. Supernatural is filled with action and suspense - considering it has the paranormal element - with very complex and witty characters. PLL is seven seasons of trying to find a homicidal stalker, while Lucifer is a very unique show with sinister elements - all about the man himself.

Movies

Appealing movies for this sign would be similar in pace and would include tons of action and conflict. Especially with risk-taking characters that are fundamentally brave or find their courage throughout the course of the film.

  • Jumanji
  • Jurassic Park
  • Indiana Jones
  • Marvel Universe

Or just superhero movies in general. This genre can easily keep this bold, fiery sign entertained. Jumanji, Indiana Jones and Jurassic Park are all filled with action sequences that often flirt with death, while the Marvel Universe and most superhero movies are just the epitome of an Aries' speed.

Taurus

Romance/Nostalgia

Taurians are generally homebodies as it is a very rational and grounded sign. They appreciate the finer and more comforting aspects of life so they are likely to spend more time watching films and TV shows

They tend to enjoy romance between characters as well as feeling a sense of nostalgia. A Taurus may gravitate towards cult classics as well as shows and movies that are more realistic with genuine personalities. They really do like to make things personal.

TV Shows

An appealing series for a Taurus to watch would include a fair amount of humour and grounded friendships or relationships between characters. The human aspect of what they watch tends to be very important and comforting to them.

  • How I Met Your Mother
  • Community
  • Gilmore Girls
  • Friends

These have Taurian elements as they are set in realistic circumstances that are based on the relationships between the characters. Lots of personality comes out in all these series and the character development throughout the shows allows the audience to relate to and grow with them.

Movies

Movies are quite similar as they should be largely based on relationships as well as maintaining a strong familial element. Older - possibly from one's childhood - films are also a great option as they evoke a sense of familiarity. Usually, any good "throwback" film will suffice.

  • Back to The Future
  • Forest Gump
  • Disney Movies

Back to The Future is a very "feel good" 80s movie from many peoples' childhood and Forest Gump can be very emotional due to its familial relationships. While Disney movies, in general, are hard not to get a laugh or smile out of - whether you have interest in the original Disney princesses or the Pirates of The Caribbean, they all carry that necessary nostalgia factor.

Gemini

Apocalyptic

Gemini is ultimately a very elusive and somewhat misunderstood sign. Geminis are extremely intelligent and self-assured people who see value in their personal opinions and ideas. They are generally confident in placing judgment on things that they feel deserve it and strive for improvement in all areas of their lives.

When it comes to film, they are similar to Libras in that they value higher production quality and clever writing. They like characters that they can relate to - ones that have very bold and witty personalities - and unexpected plots with lots of twists and turns. This collection of Gemini-esque qualities can actually be found a lot within the Apocalyptic genre.

TV Shows

The Apocalyptic genre is fairly specific but has a lot of potential for unique and captivating stories. The mystery and unexpected twists and turns of such an unrealistic (depending on your existential perspective, I guess) setting is especially attractive to such an intense air sign, like Gemini.

  • The 100
  • The Mist
  • Z Nation

I have finished all of these series, (what can I say, I'm a curious Pisces) and can guarantee that each one is able to take an insane, elaborate concept - the nuclear destruction of earth, an unexplained mist filled with bloodthirsty creatures and a zombie virus - and turn it into something so different that stands out from any old, cheesy zombie apocalypse film.

Movies

The standard for movies in this genre is pretty much the same of course but there is definitely a much wider range than of television series. There are endless opportunities for end of the world themes that go far beyond what is even concievable for us in reality - but that's what makes it so interesting.

  • In The Tall Grass
  • Inception
  • Bird Box
  • Gravity

These movies are based on even more farfetched dystopian futures as well as possibilities that can keep you up at night (maybe not a Gemini though, since they tend to enjoy that sort of thing). Something like Bird Box proposes the idea of an entity that will kill you with eye contact while Gravity fictionally portrays the dangers of space exploration. Clever, witty and mysterious, kind of like a Gemini.

Cancer

Sad/Drama

Cancers are often seen as overly emotional or somewhat dramatic but there is a lot more to the sign than just the pure water element. Cancers are very empathic and emotionally intelligent people with very complex minds.

Considering how caring Cancers can be and how much they focus on others in their normal life, it is fairly natural for them to gravitate towards more dramatic shows and movies. Taking on more idealistic and interesting stories gives them a break from their own struggles & emotions. But, overall, they will appreciate anything that allows them to fantasize or daydream.

TV Shows

Shows that usually appeal more to Cancers tend to be fairly melodramatic with a lot of mental games and emotional manipulation. The darker and somewhat "messed up" element of certain series can really hold their attention long enough to get through several seasons.

  • Grey's Anatomy
  • Riverdale
  • 13 Reasons Why

These series are all very emotionally taxing and unrealistic to the point where the audience can't help but get sucked into the issues and relationships between the characters. This is pretty ideal and interesting for a Cancer to get invested in.

Movies

Movies that would appeal to Cancers are usually based on this same drama as well as chivalry and romance. Cancers normally don't mind living vicariously through the characters in a film as that may allow them to get a sense of emotional satisfaction out of them.

  • The Perks of Being a Wallflower
  • Horns
  • Warm Bodies

The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a classic movie that a young Cancer would enjoy based on the romanticized view of the high school experience. Horns and Warm Bodies are also very emotional films with unfeasible yet captivating plots.

Leo

Lighthearted

Leos, as typical fire signs, are very outgoing and eccentric people with very big hearts. They are extremely caring and loyal people who care about their relationships and the people in their lives - and this comes through in what they enjoy watching as well.

Leos like to see themselves in TV and movie characters as they tend to be very confident - sometimes to the point of being considered vain - and self assured people. Light-heartedness and relatability are the main elements they usually value.

TV Shows

Series that Leos would enjoy are usually fun and humorous and have typical Leo qualities shine through. But, instances of overcoming disloyalty, strong bonds and bubbly personalities stand out the most. They like to feel a connection with the lives they are getting invested in (although, don't we all?)

  • OITNB
  • Friends
  • Seinfeld
  • Glee

Series like Friends and Seinfeld are classic sitcoms that usually give the audience a good laugh, while OITNB and Glee are a little more edgy and controversial yet maintain a good level of humour and strong - sometimes egocentric - personalities.

Movies

Movies that are classic, "feel good" and nostalgic are great for the typical Leo. If they are exciting and even sometimes a little avant-garde, they won't fail in keeping a Leo's attention.

  • Grease
  • Clueless
  • 13 Going on 30

These are definitely quite jovial and fun movies with those same big personalities and interesting elements that Leo's enjoy - like recovering after betrayal and the importance of relationships and loyalty. I would say that Clueless is the go-to movie for someone who wants to get an idea of what a stereotypical Leo looks and acts like. That's all I'll say though.

Virgo

Sci-Fi/Fantasy

Virgos are typically quite high strung and goal-oriented people which, in turn, makes it difficult for them to escape reality. They usually find it hard to forget about their issues and stressors in life so things like film and literature are incredibly useful for them.

In order to step outside of themselves for a while, Virgos often gravitate towards more 'odd' or magical stories. This is why Scifi and Fantasy are perfect genres for Virgos to get lost in. Unrealistic plots and characters give the sign a sense of youthful joy or bewilderment and the ability to forget about their own life while they watch. It's a little bit like giving a hard-working mom a day off, but the mom has been working hard since birth. That's the essence of a Virgo.

TV Shows

Television does tend to sway away from the Fantasy/Sci-Fi genre though, but is made up for with equally as unique and captivating plots. Virgos value certain elements of their own personalities - they appreciate strong relationships and tend to be quite protective over themselves and their loved ones - which translates into the stories they get involved in. Although they also tend to appreciate things like deception and cunning characters. It's a pretty complicated mix of qualities.

  • Russian Doll
  • Breaking Bad
  • Criminal Minds

These types of shows are quite unique and vastly interesting while adhering to that familiar sense of protection and interpersonal bonds - especially in shows like Breaking Bad - as well as displaying an air of mystery and deception - especially in shows like Criminal Minds (Or any crime based show, really). Specifically, though, Russian Doll provides a good mix of fantastical elements and Virgo traits.

Movies

Movies with Virgo appeal delve extra deep into Science Fiction and Fantasy with the intention to evoke curiosity AND confusion. Even those that induce existential crises or make you question your own perception of the world are fascinating to an evolved Virgo.

  • The Matrix
  • The Truman Show
  • Now You See Me

These are extremely thought-provoking movies and require the audience to get completely lost in the story to grasp it in its entirety. There are also multiple important nuances and hidden details that add to each film's depth and complexity - perfect for someone who struggles to unwind or forget about their own struggles in life for a while. Especially if you're the type of Virgo who loves to ask the tougher questions in life or challenge your own ideas regarding the nature of reality.

Libra

Romcoms

Libra is often considered the most romantic sign as they have a deep appreciation for love and romance. While they are known to be quite indecisive and overly flirtatious at times, they do have this natural affinity for beauty and artistry as well, especially in film.

They are more likely to enjoy romantic comedies as well as other cinematic elements like music and overall aesthetic. They care more about quality than most other signs and enjoy films and shows that are pleasing to their eye - so it may be a little harder for them to find something they really like.

TV Shows

Series that Libras may find interest in reflect their unique styles as well as their natural romantic personalities. Shows that pay attention to detail are the most pleasing to their senses but they may also enjoy those that focus on drama and relationships.

  • That 70s Show
  • New Girl

While these may seem like odd choices, That 70s Show is focused on an entirely different generation and pays attention to the details that come along with things like set design and costumes - not to mention how the show revolves around humorous and awkward teenage relationships. New Girl is more just based on the relationship aspect but it's quirky and fun, like a typical Libra.

Movies

Love and romance are the focus of the movies that reflect the qualities of a Libra. Iconic romcoms and musicals are usually quite endearing for the sign and allow them to lose themselves in an attractive story.

  • 50 First Dates
  • The Wedding Singer
  • Mamma Mia
  • Dirty Dancing

Mamma Mia and Dirty Dancing are both classics with great music and dance performances that most people enjoy in general. 50 First Dates and The Wedding Singer have much more interesting plots than the average, corny Romcom and both have great chemistry between characters. (I also just realized both movies star Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore.... they just go so well together I guess, whoops my bad)

Scorpio

Mystery/Thrillers

Scorpio is definitely one of the most complicated signs as they are deep and emotional water signs but also very intelligent and curious about the more difficult subjects in life.

They are comfortable expressing their sexuality and enjoy darker themes that some signs steer clear of. They don't just want to be scared, they want to be challenged by things in life and like to question their perception and ideas even just while watching films or television.

TV Shows

Scorpios would most likely enjoy series with sinister or disturbing themes that can make them wonder and contemplate. Shows like this could be largely fear-based to give them an exciting sense of discomfort or could just contain dark and controversial topics.

  • Skins
  • Stranger Things
  • I am a Killer

Stranger Things is a very popular show that captivates people due to its supernatural elements while Skins is very uniquely dark and complex. I am a Killer is quite different as it's a series about real convicted murderers which is easily in the average Scorpio's wheelhouse.

Movies

Movies for Scorpios should maintain some kind of psychological thrill and may include purely fictional horror or something based on a true story that can be even more unnerving. Even the addition of sexual prowess and complicated relationship dynamics remain within their comfort zone most of the time.

  • The Boy
  • Dirty John
  • Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile

The Boy (in my opinion) is just an extremely well-done horror movie but movies like Dirty John and Extremely Wicked are, again, based on true stories. Extremely Wicked is especially interesting for the sign as it is made to feel like a fictional movie yet you know that all of the horrific murders were actually committed by a real person

Sagittarius

Action/Documentaries

Sagittarius is probably the most optimistic and curious of all the fire signs. They're extremely adventurous people with a love for learning about whatever comes along to peak their interest. While they tend to develop passions for a wide range of different subjects, they do share a common interest in things like culture and travel, especially - considering their natural spontaneity as well.

The mind of a Sag guides them towards genres of film that have that same sense of uniqueness and spontaneity as well as those that take them out of their comfort zone. Things like documentaries satisfy their need to absorb knowledge, foreign films allow them to explore the world when they don't have the means and action is a staple for the fire sign spirit in general.

TV Shows

It's hard to pin down exactly what the typical Sag would enjoy because of their range of interests but fortunately, this allows for a lot fewer restrictions and a lot more enjoyment overall. Not to mention their knack for finding the positive traits in things and accepting that they may have to sift through some duds to find something they will really connect with.

  • Avatar The Last Airbender
  • Ted Bundy Tapes

Shows like Avatar and the Bundy Tapes are worlds apart but they do hold a lot of Sag friendly traits. Avatar is very unique, fun and exciting while the other is a type of documentary that offers that educational element to any Sag who may have found a love for True Crime. Netflix is also full of foreign shows that may appeal to the language learner Sag (like "Dark" which is fully in German) or ones for the history buff Sag (like "Freud") .

Movies

Movies for a Sagittarius can get a lot more broad and interesting. There are truly so many films that this sign could enjoy on Netflix, they could easily just pick a genre list based on something they're interested in at the moment - since it often changes - and scroll through to find something promising. But there's a few that I've seen my Sag friends enjoy that I'll suggest.

  • Deadpool
  • Monty Python (Holy Grail)
  • Jane

Deadpool and Monty Python are just generally amazing movies with a ton of witty humour and very unique characters and storylines. Jane is quite different as it is a makeshift documentary of Jane Goodall clips throughout her early career studying chimpanzees in Tanzania. Even if you're a Sag who isn't interested in the world of Primatology, I would still highly recommend it as an amazing documentary to get lost in. I promise.

Capricorn

Crime/Business

Capricorns are the businessmen/women of the zodiac. They tend to be more career-driven and ambitious with a better grasp on financial matters which often gives the sign a reputation for being too serious and unable to sit back and relax once in a while.

They're also more likely to find interest in things like politics, crime and business which requires the consumption of related media. It's not uncommon to see a Capricorn opting for personal finance books instead of fantasy or watching the news instead of cartoons. They just naturally have the ability to keep their lives together - a little more than the rest of us.

TV Shows

Naturally, such a business savvy sign is more apt to enjoy watching something relatable in that way. There are plenty of series that cater to those types of people who like to expand their horizons and gather a little extra motivation to face the real world.

  • The Office
  • Shark Tank
  • House of Cards

The Office is a pretty obvious choice due to its setting but it also adds some pure, early 2000s, unadulterated humour - something that a serious Capricorn may not show off at first. The other shows are more straight forward and serious though, and Shark Tank/Dragon's Den is great for showing off the reality and inner-workings of entrepreneurship.

Movies

Capricorns are clearly more biased towards movies about business, politics and crime - even those that are mafia based. If they are able to gain some knowledge from what they are watching, even better. Anything to get them farther ahead in life and achieve their dreams.

  • The Theory of Everything
  • Catch Me if You Can

The Theory of Everything is particularly interesting if you're a Capricorn who is interested in science - or anything having to do with Stephen Hawking's research - but Catch Me if You Can is a masterpiece. It's centered around a very successful con artist who actively creates entirely new identities for himself through his scams and expert deception. Despite being played by a Scorpio. (Leonardo, of course)

Aquarius

Musicals/Fantasy

I hate to say this, but Aquarians are the definition of "quirky." Aquarius is a very confusing sign - typical of its air element - and holds a lot of distinctive traits. They're the type of people who like to stand out, they don't rely much on their emotions and often are quite self-sufficient despite their friendly demeanor.

An Aquarius is more likely to explore their curiousity and indulge their immature side so they prefer magic, music and imagination. This lends well to the Fantasy genre as well as Musicals and Theatre. They may even prefer films that allow them to sing along or that simply just fuel their creativity.

TV Shows

Aquarius-approved shows tend to be based on the most unrealistic stories with universes that allow for strange phenomena or magic. While that isn't exactly a requirement, it is preferable - especially if there is no catchy soundtrack or confusing pacing.

  • Once Upon a Time
  • A Series of Unfortunate Events

Once Upon a Time has a direct connection to the magic of Disney and retells those fairy tales in live-action which brings them to life even more while A Series of Unfortunate Events is a bit of a darker form of fantasy. Maintaining just as many absurdist fictional elements, it brings just the right amount of left field humour and confusion.

Movies

These genres thrive much more in movies than in television. Some of the most unique and captivating movies have this preferred element of absurdism. It's just in the nature of Aquarius as a sign, they like to mess around with playful bewilderment.

  • Night at The Museum
  • Mr. Nobody
  • La La Land

Night at The Museum is incredibly appealing to this type of person as it brings to life a collection of museum exhibits with clashing personalities - anthropomorphism at its finest. Mr. Nobody is just extremely thought-provoking and chaotic and La La Land is musical, romantic and based on characters following their dreams. It sounds cliche but it really works.

Pisces

Psychological Thrillers

As a Pisces myself, I can verify that we are very strange people. Pisces are sometimes viewed as the odd middle ground between the other two water signs. We are very emotionally intelligent like Cancers but we aren't able to express those emotions as well and we are morbidly curious like Scorpios but lack their confidence and self-assurance.

Wisdom and general curiosity are the stand out traits of the average Pisces. We tend to get very passionate and invested in certain topics so there is a broad spectrum of media that we will enjoy individually, but many of us share an appreciation for darker subjects and take interest in the boundaries of human psychology and imagination. This can easily be tied to the Psychological Thriller genre.

TV Shows

Pisces may come across as innocent and unable to handle the atrocities that come with the real world, but we are fundamentally dark and cynical people. Despite being huge daydreamers, we aren't exclusively interested in positive, optimistic or uplifting subject matter. We appreciate disturbing stories - realistic or supernatural - and like to feel a base level of discomfort or trepidation when watching shows and movies.

  • American Horror Story
  • Black Mirror
  • Dexter

Shows like AHS and Black Mirror appeal to our broad imaginations and our interest in the paranormal while a show like Dexter dives into abnormal psychology. This genre tends to be an acquired taste to many other signs but for a Pisces, the more unsettling the better.

Movies

Pisces also have lots of options for psychologically damaging movies. Even if you're a bit of a softer, more youthful Pisces, you could opt for some classic Tim Burton films. If you like to turn all your lights off and scare yourself at 2am, there are plenty of less gory horror films. But, if you're feeling really adventurous, you can opt for a pure psych thriller.

  • Coraline
  • Hush
  • Split

Most of us truly just enjoy weird sh*t. Coraline is a staple for creepy animated movies, Hush can sometimes be a tough one to get through - based on a man trying to kill a deaf woman alone in her home from her perspective, yikes - and Split (while controversial due to its fanatical depiction of DID) is based on the psychology of a kidnapper with multiple personalities.

Note

These recommendations are based on generalizations of all the signs and my own experience. If you have no interest in the genre I suggested, that's totally okay! You might even want to look more into your full natal chart and you may find that you identify more with your moon sign than your sun sign. That happens quite often actually. Just a thought. Have a good day, champ.
