Victor Newman goes into Michael Myers mode on 'The Young and the Restless'

Its October, and Halloween is just around the corner so this article will be slightly playful, while at the same time addressing a current storyline on The Young and the Restless. On Thursday, Lily and Billy were discussing their victory of increased sales due to the expose on Adam. Both Victor and his son filed lawsuits against Chance Com, but they were thrown out. Billy is feeling victorious and wants to print a follow up. Lily seems to slowly be considering the idea. As they were talking, there had been no one else around them, when suddenly, seemingly out of nowhere Victor was there.

The viewing audience did not see him walk up, and obvious Billy and Lily had not been aware of his presence. The Newman patriarch was simply there, larger than life, glaring down at the duo. He reminded me of Michael Myers from the movie Halloween, who was always just there in front of or behind his potential victims without a sound. Longtime Y&R viewers probably recognized the look on Victor's face and realized the duo who run Chance Com are in serious trouble. As the "mustache" stood there inspecting his advarsaries, I halfway expected to hear the movie theme music that was always played when Michael Myers was stalking a victim. Billy and Lily will probably get earful from the most powerful man in town, when the scene is revisited, possibly on Friday. Victor, like Michael Meyers. is ruthless and takes no prisoners. The movie slasher hides behind a mask, and the soap character has a poker face. No one e ver knows what either is thinking or what their next move is going to be. The one difference between the two is that Victor is not a sadistic murderer. For the last 4 decades on The Young and the Restless, Victor Newman has been invincible. No matter what comes his way, he always comes out on top. Likewise, each time Michael Myers is presumed dead, he rises like a phantom to inflict more harm.

What devious plans lurk in the mind of the "Mustache" now that he has retired and more time on his hands to think up evil? Will he really hurt Lily or will his friendship with Neil give her a reprieve? Victor has come up with some ruthless plans when it comes to Billy Boy Abbott. He had him kidnapped and drugged in a foreign country and paid Chelsea to seduce him. The result was Ms. Lawson showing up in Genoa city pregnant with Billy's son. Victor also had Jack kidnapped and paid a lookalike to take his place. Phyllis was shocked to find out that the man in her bed was not her husband. The very first storyline that involved Eric Braeden's character had him locking his wife's lover in the basement of his home.

Spoiler alerts have not yet given viewers any idea of whether Victor will strike right away, or wait until things settle down. Nothing has been said as to what type of punishment Billy can expect. What is known is that on Friday, Victor will try to make amends with Victoria. He knows that his daughter is the one who set this in motion and gave Billy the amunition to write the story on Adam. Victor is all about family and will not want Victoria in the crossfire. If she refuses his olive branch there is no telling what will happen next. A few years back, Victor had Kevin help him wipe out Nick's bank account, so he is not above inflciting pain on his children.

What Y&R viewers can hang onto is the fact that when Victor shows up, standing tall and confident, seeming to be studying his prey, it's time to watch out. At some point, he will unexpectedly strike, just like Michael Meyers and all hell will break loose. He has tried to ruin the life of Billy Boy time and time again. This time he might just succeed. Be on the lookout for spoilers and updates related to what Victor's revenge plan will be and who will be caught in the crossfire. The fact that his granddaughter Faith has been humiliated by the artice wil be extra fuel for the fire. Stay tuned because something wicked is coming to Genoa City. Wait for it, because it's coming.
