Versatile soap vet continues to please

Tristan Rogers is best known for his role as WSB agent turned District Attorney, Robert Scorpio on ABC’s General Hospital. In recent years he had also portrayed Colin Atkinson on The Young and the Restless. Many times he could be seen on both shows simultaneously and that’s what will happen this week. While Robert is lending support to ex-wife Anna Devane and tracking down bad guys, Colin is living it up in the Maldives and may have been behind a financial scam. At a time when many older actors struggle to keep working, Rogers is in demand on two popular daytime drama’s.

On General Hospital, DA Scorpio is keeping an eye on Dr. Hamilton Finn who just found out he has a daughter with Hayden Barnes. Last spring, Robert finally gave his blessing for Finn to marry Anna. He has seen the sparks between Finn and Hayden and know the little girl they have will compliment things. Robert still cares deeply for Anna and does not desire to see her get hurt. Most viewers of the ABC daytime drama believe that Finn will eventually reunite with Hayden and create a family unit for their daughter Violet. This may open the door for Anna and Robert to reconnect.

Both Tristan Rogers and Finola Hughes are beloved actors who have legions of fans. The spark is still there between them, if the writers ever decide to go in that direction. Robert Scorpio has roots in Port Charles but Colin Atkinson will only stick around Genoa City for a few days this time. It looks like Colin is the mastermind behind defrauding Devon out of his inheritance and this will not go over well with Jill. She will be more insulted that her ex-husband tinkered with Katherine Chancellor's legacy than she will be about what he did to Devon. If the impeachment hearings do not delay programming, then Coin will be seen on November 21 and 22.

In addition to acting, Tristan Rogers is also a director and producer. The 73-year-old celebrity is proof that age is nothing but a number. Jess Walton who portrays Jill is on recurring status but it would be great to see her and Colin interacting again. One of the funniest scenes between the two was when she put him out of the Chancellor mansion in the freezing cold and snow when he was completely naked. All he had for cover was a pillow that he held in front of him while he was begging to be let back inside. Colin also had a colorful relationship with Katherine Chancellor.

At some point this week or next, Coin will spin his yarn to Jill regarding how the will scam went down. Cane continues to insist he is innocent but on Monday he did something that gave viewers pause. When Chance said he had a flight to the Maldives, Cane practically begged him not to go. This may indicate that Mr. Ashby was in on the con with his dad. It's unfortunate that viewers of The Young and the Restless will only get to enjoy the bantering between Jill and the man she loves for a few episodes but you never know what the future holds. It's always possible that Colin Atkinson may return at a later date.

In the meantime General Hospital fans can look forward to seeing Robert Scorpio whenever he has scenes. A few months back when Robert was named the new Port Charles DA, his brother Mac was promoted to chief of detectives. Unfortunately Mac and his wife Felicia have not been seen since. Viewers thought perhaps the Scorpio brothers would be working together to solve crime but so far they have not. Neither General Hospital nor The Young and the Restless was preempted on Tuesday but be sure to check your local listings for the rest of the week. Make sure to be on the lookout for updated spoiler alerts to find out what Tristan Rogers, AKA Colin Atkinson, Robert Scorpio will be up to next.
