Superhero movies may have become common in cinemas all over the world, but Hollywood still produces some of the best blockbusters you can find.

Marvel Studios has just released 'Falcon and Winter soldiers' & 'Wanda Vision' film in Disney plus few days ago. The comic book juggernaut has released well over a hundred movies, which are all considered true movies.

Here are 10 of our favourite Marvel movies, listed in order from worst to best.

10. ‘The Avengers’

The best movie in the ‘Avengers’ franchise is surprisingly not ‘The Avengers’, but rather ‘Marvel’s The Avengers’, released in 2012, and starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Don Cheadle, Bruce Willis, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Hayley Atwell, Idris Elba, Gwyneth Paltrow and Ben Affleck.

It was shot simultaneously with ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’, with much of the latter film reused for the former. The plot concerns the attack on New York by The Red Skull, and the need to gather all the Avengers to defeat him. With huge names like Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson, this is not the sort of film to watch before bed.

9. ‘Iron Man 2’

While it is considered a good movie, critics found it disappointing, yet it still brought in over a billion dollars at the box office. The sequel was made after ‘The Avengers’, and saw Tony Stark trying to regain his humility, and the trust of his crew, after his ‘heroic’ first movie. It is probably Marvel’s best movie, especially since it brought back a lot of the minor actors who were cut out of the first movie.

8. ‘Iron Man 3’

Made in 2014, ‘Iron Man 3’ is the third movie in the franchise, and it does not disappoint. The first two Iron Man films were a huge success for Marvel, but ‘Iron Man 3’ took the series into new territory, with the introduction of Jessica Jones, and other new characters. The movie also sees a return of Edward Norton, which fans have always loved, while Chris Evans returned to the role of Captain America, for a fantastic cameo. It has been called the best comic book movie ever made.

7. ‘The Incredible Hulk’

Natalie Portman and Edward Norton reunite in the big screen adaptation of the ‘Hulk’ comic book, and they look pretty convincing as the troubled, angry Bruce Banner and his green counterpart. The movie also follows two new characters, including Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, and Adrian Grenier as Hawkeye, in the comic book crossover film that all superheroes must appear in, despite their vast differences.

6. 'Thor Ragnarok'

Hulk and Valkyrie find themselves the guests of Loki, who has arrived on the planet Sakaar and hopes to reclaim his throne there as ruler of the world of the Skrulls. On his way to planet Sakaar, Thor and Loki are attacked by Hela (Cate Blanchett), who overpowers Thor and drags him away. Loki decides to help his brother in the struggle to reclaim his rightful position as ruler of the realm, and accompanies Thor to the prison planet. There he finds that his father is still alive, and the two come face-to-face on the planet.

Despite the similarities of his previous encounters with Loki, Thor manages to not kill his sibling. Thor and Loki are reconciled, and Thor returns to Asgard to rule as the Asgardian King once more.

5. ‘Iron Man’

The third movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is actually the second best movie in the entire franchise. The first movie is the best. The third movie has Robert Downey Jr returning to play Tony Stark, while Gwyneth Paltrow also reprises her role as Pepper Potts. The storyline is about Stark convincing Paltrow’s character that he should let her work for Iron Man, as a corporate spy. Tony Stark also reunites with some of his old friends, including Samuel L. Jackson, who has played Nick Fury in other Marvel movies. The film is full of action, drama and even a bit of romance. It does, however, seem a bit much for a second movie in the same series, but the story does pack a punch.

4. ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’

The first movie in Marvel’s new era, ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ was one of the most loved comic book movies, so it is a surprise that it is not at the top of this list. Even so, the comic book series started by Steve Rogers has some of the best characters in the entire comic book universe, including both the idea of ‘Superheroes’ and the idea of ‘Greatest Heroes’. That makes it the perfect movie to introduce the MCU to new audiences. It also features a good cameo from Marvel’s greatest hero, Chris Evans, who plays Steve Rogers. This was the first Marvel movie to be a big hit with the fans, and the end of the first movie has really made it a classic, and a must watch.

3. 'Doctor Strange'

Currently streaming on Display plus, Doctor Strange is based on the comic of the same name by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. It's the story of Dr. Stephen Strange who loses his hands and legs to a car crash and learns mystical ways to bring himself back to life. The blockbuster also has a stellar cast including Benedict Cumberbatch, Tilda Swinton, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Scott Adkins.

But there is now a growing chorus of fans who have taken issue with the actual villain of the piece. The Ancient One has drawn a huge negative reaction from critics and fans who claim Marvel are promoting white supremacy by giving the role to Swinton, who was nominated for a BAFTA in 2014. In addition to this, they claim the character is stereotyping and reinforcing stereotypes about Asians as unintelligent or male-oriented.

2. 'Avengers Infinity War'

The Avengers are coming to an end in Avengers: Infinity War. A lot has changed since the first Avengers movie. The initial aim of the Avengers was to save the world. Once they realised that even Avengers can be destroyed, they vowed to ensure that they can ensure that nobody can control the evil of the universe.

1. 'Avengers Endgame'

In the words of Iron Man, we'll only know how good Avengers Endgame really is when we've seen it all the way through.

Luckily for us, due to the way Marvel has planned its universe with films from the current Phase 3, the question of Avengers Endgame's good vs bad track record is almost irrelevant. If you want to discuss the possibility of Avengers Endgame being a Marvel movie made for us by the fans, you won't get much argument from us.

We already know what you're saying. Yes, Marvel is a franchise for everyone now. We understand. But this is a huge movie, after everything we've seen. A huge film which means it would be a shame for it to suffer the fate of other Avengers films in its recent history.

So must watch this movie. Not a request. A demand. Not to see the end of an era, but to see an ending that makes us happy.
