Michael's first big clue that Phyllis might be alive

Wednesday on The Young and the Restless Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) may receive a tip that leads to the location where Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford is hiding). This sage began when called Summer Abbott and shared that she had murdered Jeremy Stark (James Hyde)and asked her daughter to keep her secret until she could figure things out. Until that time everyone was grieving and believing Phyllis had been murdered. Now after weeks of turmoil, lies, and misunderstandings perhaps this drama is close to being ended.

Michael has told Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E Bregman) about the situation and they deal with the aftermath of Daniel Romalati's (Michael Grazeadei) stunning revelation about Phyllis still being alive. Lauren has a hard time accepting that her good friend would allow them all to grieve just to get back at Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) and everyone is on a different page about the issue.

So many conflicted emotions

Jack Abbott (Peter Bregman) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) want to help Michael prove Diane is innocent and are trying to keep her quiet now that she is also in the loop. Daine was almost provoked into telling Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) and Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) what Phyllis had done and when she abruptly stopped mid-sentence they were dumbfounded by her new confident attitude that she would not be convicted of murder. Daniel is concerned with keeping his mother out of prison and Summer wanted the secret to not be revealed until they were certain Phyllis would not do any time. Jack and Diane want Phyllis to pay but Kyle is torn because this is his wife's mother.

Lauren gets a bright idea

As Michael is drinking coffee Lauren questions him on whether or not there is any proof to back up the wild claim that Phyllis is alive and he admits that Daniel mentioned that Stark was killed with scissors. The investigator calls and Michael tells Lauren that he just received a big break in the case. He shares with her that Jeremy had initiated the process to collect life insurance payments after Phyllis died, but he was murdered before he could complete the paperwork and get the money.

Michael tells his wife that Stark gave his contact information to the insurance company which includes a local post office box. The former DA was able to pull some strings and obtain the registration info for the box, which led to a low-rent motel just outside of Genoa City. Lauren realizes this would be the ideal hideout for a supposedly dead woman to disappear for a while. Michael will decide that Jack will want to hear where Phyllis might be hiding. Previews for The Young and the Restless have shown Kyle and his dad searching a motel room and Jack saying they don't know what they are looking for but will recognize it when they find it.

Spoilers teased that Lauren would come up with her own idea of how to locate Phyllis so will she be the one to get the ball rolling to search the motel? What will Jack and Kyle find when they get there and will this be a credible lead or a false hope? Michelle Stafford has taken some time away from The Young and the Restless but her return date has not been revealed so its not clear how long it will take for her character to be found. Be sure to tune in Wednesday to watch the drama and action in Genoa City and be on the lookout for updates related to when Phyllis finally returns to town.
