‘The Young and the Restless’ may put Billy and Lily together

Friday on The Young and the Restless, Jill revealed her plan to keep her son to in check. She offered him the position of running Chancellor Industries, but there was a catch. She wants Lily to work side by side with Billy but he did not like the idea, He went to Jack to seek advise and Lily had a heart to heart with Traci. Eventually the two friends agreed to the deal. This had viewers wondering what is going on with Christel Khalil. The actress went on recurring status about a year and a half ago and the writers dismantled her family.Dhe and Cane divorced, Charlie and Mattie went away to college and their house was sold. There have been no announcements from spoilers that Khalil is returning full time to the CBS daytime drama and if she is not this brings up a question.

If Christel Khalil can retain the Chancellor position while only appearing on The Young and the Restless every now and then, why could Lily not have remained married to Cane and done the same? If she is returning full time this could open the door for a romantic relationship with Billy. The two slept together years ago and have remained good friends. Working side by side may cause their feelings for one another to grow. This would not be anything that happens right away, because there are a lot of issues that must be sorted through first.

Right now both Billy and Lily are wary of each other and neither really cares for the work ethics of the other. He believes she is too by the book and she considers his methods as risky, Even so they agreed to Jill’s terms. The next question is why Jill called upon Lily who was not even living in Genoa City. Perhaps mama bear has accepted that her son and Victoria are over and she thinks Lily would be a great choice for him. This may only be a business deal but it possibly could become so much more. Best friends, business associates and lovers may be what Lily and Billy are headed for. They have history as well as chemistry.

If Khalil is returning full time on The Young and the Restless perhaps the timing may answer a few questions that have been on the minds of the viewers. For quite some time it has looked like the character of of Billy Abbott was about to be axed. Spoiler alerts have bern reporting that Jason Thompson would soon be off the CBS daytime drama. Since Billy and Lily both accepted Jill’s offer this seems to imply that fans will be seeing more of both characters, at least for a while. Most viewers have expressed that they do not like Amanda being paired with Jill’s son and believe she should be with Nate or Devon.

Christel Khalil went n recurring status during the time Mal Young was head writer. Mishsel Morgan and Eileen Davidson both left the show at this same time. Each of these women have been back in Genoa City since Mal Young was fired so perhaps Khalil has made the same decision. There is also the fact that prior to going on recurring status, Khalil was quoted as saying she was tired of playing Lily. Perhaps it was that she was weary of her character being in a committed relationship with Cane and rearing the twins. It could be the actress was bored with her character and now working with Billy is much more interesting.

Back in the day, Villy and Lane were two of the most beloved couples on The Young and the Restless. Viewers loved the Asht family and enjoyed Billy and Victoria overcoming all obstacles, including Victor. It’s ironic that Cane and Vikki kissed but it went nowhere. Now their former spouses will be business partners and possibly so much more.
