'The Morning Show' is a Binge-Worthy Series

Every actor in 'The Morning Show' conquers a praiseworthy performance.

Tune into the news on The Morning Show.

The Morning Show aired on Apple+ TV in 2019. After one of the hosts is fired for sexual misconduct, Alex Levy makes Bradley Jackson her new co-host. The studio reinforces its standards and regulations while important news stories make headlines.

One part about having a series to binge is looking forward to each episode. This is followed by the worst part when you have no more episodes left. The Morning Show is an entertaining and well-acted dramatic series that records real-life events. It also demonstrates how to avoid letting authorities walk all over you in your career.

Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon drive the series with excellent charisma and talent. The pair started off as sisters in the hit sitcom Friends. They have both come so far in their careers. Alex and Bradley’s dynamic is the crux of the series, as they confront power dynamics, gender politics, and corporate functions.

It’s taken me a while to get used to Aniston, and while I found some of Alex’s behavior annoying, Aniston did a good job portraying the character. She had several moments where she highlighted tough emotions. Her prime moment is acting out a realistic portrayal of someone with COVID.

Even more amazing is Reese Witherspoon as Bradley. Witherspoon dove into this challenging character. She has shown audiences how versatile she can be. Bradley has never had it easy, but never gives up. I wasn’t expecting her romance arc with Laura Peterson (Julianne Margulies), which breathed more depth into her character.

Every actor in The Morning Show conquers a praiseworthy performance. More credits include Steve Carell, Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Greta Lee, and more. Most actors have been in several films or media, showcasing monumental ranges. For example, I have seen Duplass in a couple of indies. He conducts a memorable dramatic performance in the series.

Carell is another example of versatility. He’s shown the world his comedic side, but lately, he’s opened up more to dramatic roles. The role of Mitch Kessler was not easy due to the character’s misconduct and questionable behavior. I’d argue that Mitch Kessler’s storyline should have ended sooner, maybe before season 2.

Jay Carson and Kerry Ehrin didn’t just make a series about the news. The Morning Show is about perseverance and learning to stand your ground in your career. Filmmakers did incredible work for the series. The series is a chance to see what a day in the newsroom is like. The news station is a serious job and it’s an intense atmosphere.

One of the series' strengths is its ability to blend personal drama with broader societal issues. Bradley’s family draws a whole line of drama. I liked scenes with Bradley and her brother, Hal (Joe Tippett). The Covid-19 pandemic is a major storyline in season 2. Honestly, I found it the most exciting.

Since this is a news show, The Morning Show involves serious topics. Like the news, the series was a lot to take in dealing with family drama, sexual harassment, and other sensitive topics. Storylines are triggering, like when Bradley covers the infamous January 6th attacks in season 3.

Some episodes are tedious, but boy, are they exciting. Season 3 took a bit to get going. I had mixed feelings about Cory (Crudup) and his sudden love confession to Bradley. It made no sense and any feelings were never implied.

I cannot wait for season 4 of The Morning Show to air. A lot went down in the final episode. Binge this series on Apple+.
