The new trailer for Loki, one of the most eagerly awaited of the Marvel TV series coming to Disney Plus, has just dropped, boosting excitement for the series even further.

As well as giving everyone another glimpse at the fan-favourite character, last seen fleeing with the Tesseract in Avengers: Endgame, the new trailer also provided plenty of information about what to expect from the series. Here are the five most interesting moments from the new Loki trailer.

1. Loki is already aware of the TVA

Both of Loki's trailers so far have the God Of Mischief being quickly apprehended, or already in the custody of the Time Variance Authority, or TVA. The new trailer revals that Loki is somehow already aware of the TVA, whom he refers to as the Time Keepers.

In the comics, the TVA exists to monitor disturbances in the multiverse. Both heroes and villains have come up against the TVA in the past, as they take a hard line against any alterations to a timeline, even if the change is for the better. She-Hulk learned this the hard way, being put on trial by the TVA after trying to warn a past Hawkeye of his impending death.

2. The Timeline is broken

In Avengers: Endgame, The Hulk is warned by the Ancient One of the dangers to the stability of reality caused by diverging timelines. For the most part, the Avengers prevented this by having Steve Rogers return the Infinity Stones at the end of the film.

However, one major mistake that went uncorrected was 2012 Loki escaping with the Tesseract. According to TVA Agent Mobius M. Mobius, played by Owen Wilson, Loki's theft of the Tesseract has broken time, causing multiple new branching timelines. With no other options, Mobius enlists Loki himself to fix the problem.

3. Roxxcart

One shot in the trailer reveals a logo for the 'Roxxcart' company. Comic fans have pointed out that Roxxcart could be a variation on, or perhaps a branch of, the Roxxon Energy/Oil corporation. Roxxon has been referenced in the MCU before, in Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D, Iron Man 3, and the Marvel One Shot A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Thor's Hammer.

In the comics, Roxxon is a massive oil company known for employing illegal tactics in the name of greater profit. Because of this, the company has often gone head to head with many of Marvel's biggest heroes, including Captain America, Spider-Man, Iron Man, and Black Panther. Most recently, Roxxon were revealed as the masterminds behind the 'Outlawed' event, engineering an accident that almost led to underage Superheros being outlawed. This would have put characters such as Ms. Marvel, Miles Morales, and Nova out of action.

4. Black Widow returns?

In Loki's first trailer, fans were left excited and confused with a shot of a character that looked very much like the Black Widow, Natasha Romanoff. The new trailer features a shot of Loki sitting with the same character.

As fans will well know, Natasha died in Endgame, sacrificing herself so Clint Barton could obtain the Soul Stone on Vormir. However, it is possible that Loki's theft of the Tesseract has created a branching timeline in which Nat lives.

5. Mobius M. Mobius does not trust Loki

At one point in the trailer, Loki claims to always be ten steps ahead of everyone else. However, this may not be the case in his dealings with the TVA. As Mobius M. Mobius points out, he has seen everything Loki has ever done, and knows every trick he has ever pulled, taking many of Loki's greatest talents out of play. Plus, Mobius does not have Thor's enduring hope that one day his brother will do the right thing.

For the first time in the MCU, Loki is entirely on the back foot.
