The Boys Season 5

The first episode of this final season was a doozy. I can’t believe they killed A-Train off so early, like I think I’m actually in a little bit of denial about it. Just as his character development was really rounding out he gets killed by Homelander and that sucks. But our people are free from this internment camp, but the first episode was still really focused on the virus to which I was left asking what’s the point of Marie then? What actually was the whole point of the second season of Gen V if this is where we are putting all of our energy? It was just the first episode but these are the questions it opens up.

I love that Daveed Diggs is in this season, that man LOVES using art as activism and this is the perfect show for him.

Homelander tweaking out during this funeral is amazing. Also attending the funeral of someone you murdered is a special level of psychopath.

Huey is so delusional he really thinks there is another way out of this and his idealism stopped being cute in season 1. Homelander is literally gearing up for a world wide genocide and this bitch is sitting here acting like he’s better then the supes willing to sacrificing their lives to save the rest of the planet. The ends don’t justify the means does not apply in this case because they absolutely fucking do.

And enter Soldier Boy! Homelander decided it was time to wake up Daddy. The fact that Homelander is so obviously scared of him is so funny, he’s asking Soldier Boy to work for him but he is literally terrified.

Jensen is so good in this role. I mean I’ve known this man was a phenomenal actor for years, thank you Supernatural but this role just suits him really well. Because it couldn’t be more opposite of him in real life so you really get to see how wonderful an actor he is.

Okay my first negative point here…Frenchie and and Kimiko now being so sex crazed they can’t seem to focus on the task at hand. These are two characters that have done nothing but come up with a push through plan, after plan, after plan. And now they’ve admitted their love for each other and we have all of sudden forgotten that they are fighting for the freedoms of billions of people? That doesn’t fly with me.

“Fuck the job”, Kimiko I love you babe but no, the job is killing Homelander you fuckers need to FOCUS.

God, Soldier Boy found them fast. These teenage fucks are so irritating. The blindly following literally any orders they are given does a great job of showing how fucking stupid teenagers are.

Well we know the virus works and that it works on the strongest of Supes, at the very least it will slow Homelander down enough for Marie to get in there and finish the job. They seem to have the house pretty well contained but we will see if there is any other spreading of the virus.

Oh my god the voice in her head isn’t a voice it's a whole ass face on the back of her head. The lions ate my face speech is great because it's necessary…and actively happening right now in the real world. And boy are these lions hungry.

And humans are immune to the virus which is exactly what we wanted. So time to take down Homelander, except obviously not because it's the second episode of the season and we all know that this isn’t how this works. The virus is too easy.

And of course Homelander loses his shit because his daddy is dead, at least he appears to be. But of course he sits up in his body bag so the virus isn’t as strong as we thought, hence it's inability to finish off Homelander. It’s pretty much what I thought it would be.

I think they are setting things up pretty well but I’m gonna put this out there right now, I need Homelander to die BEFORE the last episode. Like the second to last episode because we need a whole finale of the aftermath. And what does the new system look like? And how are we keeping Supes in check? And all of those lovely things that need to be resolved after you overthrow an oppressive regime.
