The Boys Season 4, Episode 1

SPOILERS

By Alexandrea CallaghanPublished 12 days ago Updated 12 days ago 3 min read

We left off with Mauve faking her death and running away, soldier boy being put back on ice and Ryan choosing to be with Homelander. Season 3 is the penultimate season of The Boys and it promises to be more traumatizing then anything we’ve seen yet. Erik Kripke has promised that though Amazon greenlit the show for another season that season 5 will be the last season. For some reason Noir is being played by someone else as the actual Noir was killed by Homelander. So let's see what season 4 has in store for us. This is your spoiler warning, there will be spoilers. This is an episode recap so all of the spoilers that there could be, there will be.

Our first episode starts off with a heist with the boys and Neuman’s political campaign. Her and Singer have in fact won the presidential election which puts a very dangerous and unpredictable supe in the white house. The boys try to kill her but it obviously does not work, we are learning that there is more to Neuman’s powers then just popping heads, she seems to be completely invulnerable. Turns out that Singer is the one trying to have her killed because he knows that if they get to the white house his life is in danger. So the boys were hired by the CIA to take Nueman out.

Vought obviously wants the seats of the 7 filled and the only one that Homelander entertains is Sister Sage, the smartest person on earth. Sage is in fact brilliant but she is also the only person unafraid of Homelander. It really comes down to the fact that her ego is almost as big as Homelander’s. So he pulls her in to help him become a dictator and only allows her to speak freely because he knows that she will get him what he wants. Here’s the deal, obviously anyone on Homelander’s side is a bad person but Sage gave me a good first impression, I think the only thing I’m holding onto is that I know that she is doing this of her own volition and she won’t let Homelander push her around.

Then we dive right in with Homelanders murder trial. Anne has started Starlight’s House as a charity to help people. Now she obviously knows that there is no chance of Homelander being declared guilty but her supporters are protesting outside the courthouse anyway. A riot was instigated by Homelander’s new sidekick.

In more emotional news Frenchie is exploring his sexuality with full permission from Kimiko. And Huey’s dad has a stroke that lands him unconscious and in the hospital. Anne is learning how to use her powers to fly and Butcher is dying due to a massive growth in his brain as a side effect from shooting up compound V. And on top of all of that MM’s daughter is acting out because momma’s Homelander loving boyfriend left and then he gets his head bashed in.

The season is definitely off to a dramatic start and it has opened up a lot of storylines already. We did get an appearance from Jeffery Dean Morgan so we are starting to collect the Supernatural boys. So our main goals this season seem to be; Kill Neuman, take out Homelander (same old same old), and save Ryan. That is a lot to accomplish in 8 episodes but obviously it's probably not all going to be resolved this season. ALSO there has been a lot of internet discourse around Erin Moriarty’s looks, saying she’s had too much work done and she doesn’t look good anymore. I would like to kindly ask that all of those people fuck right off. She looks the fucking same AND I saw her in person, after the filming of season 4 and she looks beautiful so feel free to fight me.
