In the past I've spoken about the possibility of "Sword" being responsible for halting Fleet Admiral Sakazuki's Planned assault of Onigashima, through the undercover agents, X-Drake & Captain Koby's Covert Conversation. Unlike Former Fleet Admiral Sengoku's More laid back approach, we can expect Sakazuki to have a Much more Direct & Violent approach when it comes to exterminating the Thousands Of Pirates that Infest The waters Of The New World.

Whether You like him as a Person or not, Akainu has The Resolve & Power to Enforce his Sense Of Justice. When there are Armies such as The Beast Pirates amassing Great Strength through the use of Artificial Devil Fruits, there's no way that Sakazuki would allow them to continuously grow in Power without having the intention to Confront them Head On!

A Covert Operation‼️

The anime seems to implicate this scenario or planned attack more clearly than the Manga. This brings into question, Admiral Fujitoras true allegiance at Marineford. Captain Koby seems to imply that the War against the Schichibukai was planned or at-least taken advantage of, all in order to stall the Marines from becoming involved With Onigashima, due to amount of Manpower Required to Battle The Schichibukai.

According To Jinbei, The Knight Of The Sea‼️

Sakazuki has at his command, the Greatest Military might in Recent Marine History. A Man of his devotion, had Clashed with Whitebeard. A short while after the Paramount War, This Admiral would attempt to Confront & Battle The Pirate Captain Blackbeard & His Entire Crew on his Own with a Single Battleship & A few Number Of Troops at his Command. The Point must be pushed that Sakazuki's presence alone had forced Blackbeard, & his Crew Of The Strongest Level Six Escapees to resort to a Full Retreat to avoid Clashing with the Admiral.

Another key Point to note in Jinbei's information regarding Marineford is that it's prior to the reveal of The SSG's Newest Invention to the World. This in itself implicates that The Marines were able to amass their Own Strength through the Use of The International Draft. It was explained by Doflamingo that The Two Newest Admirals, The Raging Tiger, Fujitora & Green Bull were both drafted during this Event. Vegapunks Invention‼️

Marineford had plans of either invading or becoming involved with Onigashima in some Way. If Dr. Vegapunks invention managed to significantly reduce Navy casualties, don't be too surprised to see a Marine War Fleet at Wano's Border. Kaido himself also implicated to his Army, that the Marines faith in Vegapunk & his Invention was not ill placed.

If The Fleet Admiral intended on Challenging The Four Emperors with Only with The Support of The Schichibukai System & his Bolstered Military, He'd definitely become More motivated or Persuaded to go after The Yonko after He's seen the Results of Vegapunks Science In Action For Himself.

When we take a look back at the utilization of The Pacifista during The Paramount War, It was made very apparent that the Power of Science would soon Surpass The Strength Of Most Pirates within The New World. It was stated that upon entering the Battlefield, The Pacifista had affectively shifted The Tides Of War in favor Of The Marines! Now after an additional Two Years of further study, Vegapunk would've surely Evolved This Invention into A Entirely different Beast.
