The 15 Greatest Superhero Movie Moments of All Time, Ranked
Which superhero moment is taking the top spot?

Superhero movies are full of them, aren't they. Punch the air moments. Those moments that give you goosebumps. Cool, super (excuse me. I beg you), kick-ass moments.
Right here, we're listing off our top 15 of the greatest superhero movie moments, and we're not going to hold you back much longer. Let's start scrolling.
15. Diana Enters No Man’s Land - Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman was one of the DCEU's biggest hits. It felt like a unique, action-packed period piece. It was also the first time we had a solo female superhero movie. What cemented it as a sure win for female superheroes was this iconic No Man's Land scene.
When all hope was believed to be lost, Diana decided to step in and fight the Germans solo, giving her soldier pals a chance to advance. The action in this scene is pretty awesome, and her use of the iconic shield was out of this world.
14. Bruce Becomes Batman - Batman: Mask Of The Phantasm

That's right. We're even pulling animated superhero movies into the mix. I bet you didn't see that coming!
Mask of the Phantasm is a favourite amongst seasoned Batman fans, and for good reason. It shows Bruce's first real romance in his youth, and also shows how the breakdown of that relationship turned him into The Dark Knight.
That moment of him donning the cowl, Alfred's startled reaction, and him then moving into action. Jeesh. It's so kick-ass. Superhero animation at it's best.
13. Riddler’s Bomb Threat - The Batman

2022's The Batman has been a real hit with fans. Hopefully Part II will be too...if it's ever released. Sorry. Passive-aggressive Batman fan moment. Back on track we go.
The noir story is a real win for Batman fans, but one of the biggest moments comes when district attorney Gil Colson turns back up after going missing, and has to team up with vengeance himself to pass all three of The Riddler's...well...riddles.
It's a really tense scene. You genuinely don't know if Colson is going to make it out alive and if Batman is going to save the save the day. It also allows the hero to flex his detective skills. Really cool moment for the movie.
12. The Train Rescue - Spider-Man 2

We're throwing it back 22 years to Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2. In that, we got one of the coolest sequences of any superhero movie ever. The train scene.
A reformed Spidey gets into a mean tussle with Doc Ock and is eventually left to save all of the passengers on the runaway train with nothing but his noggin and his webs.
It's a very tense scene. Even watching it all of these years later. Maguire's facial expressions still have you feeling the webslinger's pain and the eventual save ties it up as earning a spot on this list.
11. The Elevator Fight - Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Oh, things are heating up now.
The elevator fight from The Winter Soldier has everything you would want from what this Cap movie was trying to sell. It has you on edge from the moment Cap enters.
The action really is quick and effective. The entire time you're wondering what the heck Rumlow and his team are actually up to. Then once Cap wins. "It kind of feels personal". shield flick. Yikes. Somebody stop this scene from being so cool.
10. The Leap Of Faith - Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse

Into The Spider-Verse finally got Miles Morales front and centre for a movie. The entire movie has him trying to be the best Spider-Man he can be, and feeling like he is failing. It's then when we get the iconic "leap of faith" scene that everything really kicks it up a notch.
The full costume. The jump from the building. The slow fall. That first swing. The song choice. Yeah. chef's kiss.
9. Thor Arrives In Wakanda - Avengers: Infinity War

Infinity War has its fair share of "WOOP WOOP!" moments. But for arguments sake, let's whittle it down to just this one.
Thor looks like he's dead. Earth's heroes are about to lose to Thanos' minions. It's a real "all is lost" moment. But then BOOM! The Avengers music kicks in and we get Thor, Rocket, and Groot rocking up to Wakanda in style. That moment tells us it's game on and the action kicks in. Even Bruce Banner's "you guys are so screwed now!" is enough to give you goosebumps.
"Bring me Thanos!". YES! So awesome.
By the way, I'm not the only one who shouts WOOP WOOP! at these moments right?...........No? Just me? Damn.
8. Team Cap vs Team Iron Man - Captain America: Civil War

Civil War is pretty much Avengers 2.5. Is that any surprise? Cap's movie brings in a high volume of supers considering it is a solo movie by name. But it's all good. We get one of the most amazing action sequences of all time.
It was heroes vs heroes when Cap's team and Iron Man's team lock horns over Bucky Barnes' fate. It is just...unspeakably cool. The MCU's first action sequence. Ant-Man going all Giant-Man on us. Then just seeing heroes fight each other in a way you would never think possible on screen. Just out of this world.
7. Batman’s Warehouse Fight - Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Batman's had a lot of fight sequences on screen overall. Any of them massively memorable? Not really if you ask me. Then came this warehouse fight from Dawn of Justice.
This is when we got to see the real brunt force of Ben Affleck's Caped Crusader, and he single handled splattered KG Beast's goons all over the place. This was a truly scary and ultimately strong Batman that we need to see on screen more often. An action scene that wows you from start to finish.
6. Wolverine Dons His Mask - Deadpool & Wolverine

It was a whole movie of Wolverine and Deadpool fighting each other before we got to see them fight side by side. The movie couldn't be anymore pleasing. But then that cowl got pulled on. Holy Marvel Jesus.
Hugh Jackman spent 24 years in the title of Wolverine before he actually got to put on his iconic, comic-accurate mask, and it didn't disappoint. Somehow, with the backdrop of Madonna's Like a Prayer, it's even better than you could imagine.
What a truly great moment! WOOP WOOP!
...Really? Nothing?
5. Tony Stark’s Sacrifice - Avengers: Endgame

Don't worry. We're making an exception with with Endgame. There are few more moments from the flick to be mentioned.
First up though, here is Tony Stark's shock moment when he sharked the infinity stones from Thanos' gauntlet and had the chance to snap away the Mad Titan and his ugly ass army.
That slow moment of the stones crawling up his arm. The slow "And I...am...Iron Man". Then that snap milliseconds later. Awesome in all kinds of awesome.
4. The Joker’s Interrogation - The Dark Knight

Okay, it's getting into Oscar territory with this one.
The Dark Knight may have been the second time we got Batman and The Joker sharing the big screen, but it's the first time things went this deep.
The famous interrogation scene is almost like a play. like Shakespeare dare I say. Joker really tries to hold a mirror up to Batman about his true nature and what kind of symbol he will be to Gotham in the end. From the dialogue to the physical moments, it's just a master stroke in grounded comic book movie power.
This is arguably the scene that helped Heath Ledger nab that posthumous Oscar.
3. Garfield & Maguire Return - Spider-Man: No Way Home

"I'm Peter Parker. I am Spider-Man...in my world".
Years of rumours and secrecy led to this moment, and to be honest, by the time it unfolded, the story had us pretty much forgetting them potentially popping up.
Yes, 2021's No Way Home featured the return of Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire as their respective versions of the wallcrawler. You've all seen the cinema reaction videos. It just brought the house down, and still does to this day.
Iconic. Beautiful. Great. Woop. Woop.
2. Captain America Wields Mjölnir - Avengers: Endgame

We got a slight hint in Age of Ultron. Then, naturally, we forgot about it. Until this unbelievable moment.
Endgame saw Cap gripping and ripping Thor's beloved hammer when the God of Thunder was about to sent to Valhalla by Thanos. And it was easily one of the coolest and most unexpected moments of the MCU's history. Or superhero movie history in general to be honest. So sick to see Cap handling both his own shield and Mjölnir as he kicked Thanos' ass.
I'd like to see the MCU top this somehow. Good luck with Doomsday, Russos.
1. Portals Scene - Avengers: Endgame

It's the top spot, and what else could possibly be in this position.
In the moment that Cap was prepared to fight a whole army by himself, we got Sam Wilson radioing in. Strange's portal opening. T'Challa and his mother and sister walking through. The rest is history. I give you easily the greatest superhero moment of all time.
The portal scene was and is an absolutely masterpiece. All those returning heroes. The music from Alan Silvestri. Cap finally giving us that "Avengers Assemble" line. It just doesn't get any better. Ever. Doomsday and any Avengers movie that follows can try and beat it. But they'll never defeat the O.G. of these ultimate team up moments.
