Tamil Movies is a Tamil language film industry. Based in the Kodambakkam district of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, the hub of the Tamil film industry is in the Kodambakkam neighbourhood, while Telugu films are primarily made in the Hyderabad neighbourhood of Film Nagar.

Kollywood is a colloquial term used to describe this industry, which was the word first used in a magazine article and applied to the cinema of West Bengal. The name "Kollywood" is a portmanteau of Kodambakkam and Hollywood. Below are some of the blogs about movies and videos resolution:

In the past few years, there has been a surge in Tamil cinema. We are seeing new genres in Tamil movies that never used to happen in Tamil cinema. For example, we have seen crime thrillers like "Sathuranga Vettai" and "Vetri Maaran".

These genres of movies are very common in Hollywood, Bollywood and other industries. This shows that the Tamil audience is getting more mature now and they are open to new things.

There have also been some groundbreaking movies like "Kaaka Muttai", "Visaranai", "Mannar Vagaiyara" and many others. I think this is the golden age of Tamil cinema.

When Did Tamil Movies Start

Tamil Movie Industry is one of the largest movie industries in India. The first Tamil talkie movie "Kalidas" was released on 31 October 1931, less than 7 months after India's first talking picture Alam Ara.

By 1935, the industry was producing over 200 films per annum. The first CinemaScope film produced in Tamil, Thiruvilaiyadal, was released in 1965.

The first film studio in South India, Durga Cinetone was built in 1936 by Nidamarthi Surayya in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh. Modern digital theatre technologies like 4K projection and 7.1 surround sound systems are common attractions offered by multiplexes.

The Tamil film industry has been around for a while. It all started in June 1929, when the first silent film was released. There were only two films released in the first year. The first colour film was released in 1935. The oldest film that is still available to watch is Keechaka Vadham (1921).

Early in the decade, with the advent of sound technology and the talkies, Kollywood, like Hollywood and Bollywood, became a catch-all term for all cinema in Tamil-speaking regions. Currently, at least 1,500 films are produced per year and are watched by over three million people.

Tamil cinema is based in Kodambakkam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The industry is often colloquially known as Kollywood (a portmanteau of "Kodambakkam" and "Hollywood"), a term first used in a 2001 article published in The Hindu newspaper.

How Tamil Movies Make Money

The Tamil film industry is the fourth-largest film industry in the world. It has a huge market not just in India but also in foreign countries like England, Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and so on.

In addition to box office collections, Tamil Movies make money through satellite rights, music rights, brand endorsements and so on.

Tamil movies are dubbed into Telugu and Malayalam languages and released as well. The dubbed versions of Tamil movies make money as well.

Following are the ways through which Tamil Movies make money:

Box Office Collections: The biggest share of income comes from Box Office Collection. The producers recover their investment by selling the movie to distributors based on the craze for the cast and crew involved in the movie.

The distributor releases the movie in theatres and collects revenue from ticket sales.

Satellite Rights: The second source of income for a Tamil movie is satellite rights. The producers sell satellite rights to television channels based on the popularity of the cast and crew involved in a movie.

A movie will be shown on television only after a certain period of time from its release date. Before that, it will be shown only in theatres.

Music Rights: Music plays an important role in increasing the popularity of a movie. This is a vital part of any play or film as music helps to set the mood and make the audience feel more immersed in what is going on.

How Tamil Movies are Made

Do you know how Tamil movies are made? Well, it's not easy. From the moment a director decides to make a movie, there are many things that have to be done.

Tamil Movies are often made on a smaller budget than American movies. Tamil movies are made by making the set, actors, and recording the movie. There is also a lot more publicity than American movies in order to get people to watch the movie.

The first step is to make a script and have it approved by everyone involved in the process. Then, a producer has to be found that fits the budget of the movie so there is enough funding for the rest of the movie-making process. Once that is done, casting can begin for actors and actresses for each role

When casting is done, filming begins. For example, if it's an action film, there will be many explosions put in during editing or even live explosions during filming. The director will then bring all of the scenes together and create a trailer to show what has been created so far.

While filming is happening, music will also be recorded so that it can be played during the film itself. After all of this is done, editing will begin to fine-tune the scenes and add effects to certain scenes if need be. Once this is done, publicity begins in order to get people interested in watching this film in theatres.
