Batman V Superman: A solid Attempt that Risks Collapsing under the Weight of its Own Symbolism
I don't know if I've ever gone into a movie wanting it to work so much. After all, this is Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, the film that really kicks off the DC Cinematic Universe. I already had concerns about it, even before the critics began to have their say and savaged the film relentlessly. In spite of that, I strove to remain open-minded, hoping against hope that this film would not disappoint.

Exploring the Messianic Imagery of Batman v Superman
#Superman is no stranger to Messianic imagery, and even the trailers made it clear that Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice would have a lot of it. The truth was, though, that the film was absolutely soaked in Messianic imagery, possibly more so than any non-religious film since The Matrix!

How Batman V Superman Broke The Internet - Before It Was Even Released!
In comic book circles right now, there is only one story. That's the story of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice - before the film has even been released! The Top 10 Female Superheroes!
Let's face it, comics haven't always done well in their treatment of women - there's a tradition in comics for female superheroes to wear outrageously bizarre skimpy costumes, often standing in back-breaking poses. That sad tradition has also been translated into the movies; Marvel's first movie starring a female lead will be released in 2018, a full decade after they launched the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But the good news is, if you look a little deeper you'll find that comics have many strong women - and that these, too, are making their way into the movies. Here, I want to celebrate some of the best female superheroes, of comics, TV, and the big screen...

Is 'Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Hosting A 'Doctor Strange' Cameo This Season?
When looking at the state of Marvel TV and Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) tie-ins, there haven't been too many direct tie-ins over the past two years. That doesn't mean there hasn't been a fair amount of connectivity shared between Marvel TV and the MCU, we could just use more of a linear type of connectivity between Marvel films and television series. That being said, this year might be the year that Marvel TV officially crosses over with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Sony's Standalone 'Venom' Movie Is Still On The Table — So Just What Is Sony's Deal With Marvel?
In the days before their deal with Marvel, Sony had dreams of building a Spider-Man franchise. The idea was that Amazing Spider-Man 2 would pave the way for a Sinister Six film, and Sony also had a Venom movie in the works. Unfortunately, Amazing Spider-Man 2 wasn't the box office hit Sony had hoped for, and Sony was forced to ditch those plans. Superhero fans don't particularly mind; Sony was eventually forced to make a deal with #Marvel, one that brought Spider-Man into the #MCU. But the Venom film isn't dead - and apparently news is imminent!
