Players joins the list of romantic comedies released this year. A list that is very short. Though in the grand scheme of things it does appear that rom coms are making somewhat of a comeback. I doubt they will ever reach the heights they were at in the 90s/early 2000s but we do seem to be getting back into the genre. This was an exclusive Netflix release, no theatres were involved. But that does mean that it is eligible for my personal, very exclusive streaming awards that I will be doing at the very prestigious location of my bedroom.

Uzumaki by Junji Ito (1997)
Uzumaki is a classic horror manga by Junji Ito, a grotesque, sprawling disaster epic with a very supernatural, cosmic horror spiraling down (no pun) from the outer rims of the storyline. It's often very sickening, and the mid-section, getting from the beginning of the story to its conclusion, seems to go the way of digressions and vignettes, some of which are shocking, some rather forgettable, but which seem presented in a confused, aimless manner. At first, we wonder: Is this building to something? Of course, in a graphic novel of this size, we know that it must. Some of Uzumaki is ridiculous, some of it sickening. All of it is fascinating and compelling. The artwork, rendered in beautiful black-and-white, is marvelous and full of hideous wonder.

My Review of "A Man Named Otto"
A Man Named Otto is a dramedy that came out back in 2022. It's a very rough start because the main character is very unlikeable in the beginning. As the story progresses, you kind of see why he is the way he is and start to really enjoy this movie. If you have patience, like the characters in this movie, then you will have a great time.

Venom: The Last Dance
When Venom came out in 2018, I don’t think anyone expected it to be a trilogy. No one expected to be a good one. And yet here we are with a third venom movie in. The comfort is that we were right, and the trilogy as a whole is not good. The first one was, Tom Hardy was a pretty great casting choice and it was a fun, funny comic book movie. Then Let There Be Carnage came out and it was terrible. You could cut out the entire second act of the film and the movie would still make perfect sense, that’s bad writing. So here we are with Venom: The Last Dance, will it be on par with the first one? Or will it go the way of Let There Be Carnage and join the list of terrible superhero movies that came out this year?
