The Evolution of James Bond's Identity: 00?

After more than half a century of existence, most of us have at least some sort of an opinion on who or what agent 007 should be. However, as the recent discussions regarding potential successors for Daniel Craig have highlighted, these opinions are massively varied and often contradictive.

Bad Max: Someone Has Turned 'Breaking Bad' Into A Bitesize Two-Hour Movie
As addictive as the drugs it pedaled, Vince Gilligan's Breaking Bad scored a line in the history of groundbreaking television, and now someone has reminded us just how good the show was in a brave new fashion. Uwe Boll's 11 Best Worst Movies
If there’s one name gamers and cinephiles alike have come to despise it’s Uwe Boll. He’s a German director who’s made a surprisingly good living grabbing the rights to middle tier game franchises and through some faustian pact with a dark god managed to con famous talent into starring in his terrible videogame movies. But in some ways he’s like a real life Max Bialystock living out a modern version of The Producers. Thanks to a German tax loophole, he’s been able to keep going by exploiting the law as a way to lure investors, despite the fact his films almost always lose tremendous amounts of money. Many countries offer tax incentives, if you film there, and employ a certain percentage of your crew from the local populace. Germany has those tax rebates, but without any of the restrictions of needing to film in Germany or use Germans as your crew.

If you grew up in the '90s and your tastes ran toward the dark, the action-y, and the unexpectedly deep, literate and meaningful, you probably rushed home every day after school to catch an animated series called Gargoyles on the Disney Channel. (If you've never heard of Gargoyles, it's what you might have watched if Batman: The Animated Series just didn't have enough magic, myth, social commentary, and actual freaking Shakespeare. An unlikely mix, but man, did it work.) And depending on where you hang out online, there's a good chance you've seen... a certain image floating around.

Cue the blood and don't skimp on the guts! It sure seems that there is a resurgence in R-rated superhero films, especially since the success of the likes of #Deadpool and #Logan. Once a dirty word among the superhero filmverse, R-ratings mean big business nowadays, which will undoubtedly force the rest of the film studios to reevaluate their current slate of films.
