Best geek movies throughout history.
#Marvel released the classic end credits for Doctor Strange before the film had even aired, and fans were simply blown away. The #MCU is often criticized for its movie's forgettable scores, but Michael Giacchino's unique composition is simply beautiful. This Doctor Who fan can't help but feel that it's eerily familiar, while there's also just the faintest touch of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, another classic!

One of the most hotly-anticipated movies of 2017, Wonder Woman will present the backstory of Gal Gadot's already iconic Wonder Woman. The movie is set against the backdrop of a world gone mad, with Chris Pine's Steve Trevor crash-landing on the shores of Themyscira. But details of the film's overarching plot are still sketchy, and we haven't even been given official confirmation on the identity of the movie's main villain. Now, though, a tantalizing photo revealed to EW may have revealed a lot more than you think...
The latest Disney trend is adapting old animated classics into live-action remakes. These movies have been tremendous successes - The Jungle Book was one of the highlights of 2016 - and promise to only get better. Let's face it, Emma Watson's Beauty and the Beast is one of the most eagerly-anticipated films of 2017!
Although Fantastic Beasts is the first in a series of five films, J. K. Rowling has played it pretty smart; the movie works as a stand-alone, meaning if (by some unbelievable misfortune) it fails to perform as well as hoped, the series can be ended without leaving fans with too many loose ends.
Mild spoilers ahead for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them! Perhaps the greatest dark wizard of all time, Lord Voldemort's shadow looms over the Harry Potter franchise. Ironically, Voldemort was actually born in 1926 — the year in which Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them takes place. Although he obviously doesn't play a part in the film, #FantasticBeasts actually sheds new light on just how powerful he really is.
2017 is sure to be one of Marvel's best years. Not only will we return to Asgard in Thor: Ragnarok and see Tom Holland's Spider-Man star in his first solo movie, we're also ready to travel spacebound for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2! In case you're not hyped enough already, it's worth bearing in mind that the promo for Guardians 2 is the second-most-viewed trailer of all time — behind only Beauty and the Beast!
For fans of the X-Men, there's one critical component missing in the #MCU: Professor Charles Xavier's team of mutants. With Fox owning the film rights to Marvel's iconic superheroes, fans have looked on with sorrow as we headed into Phase 3 of the MCU's history without a single mention of an X-gene.
The idea of a genetically engineered weapon — a human being shaped from birth to be a deadly warrior — is nothing new. Morgan toys with that idea pretty effectively, raising some intriguing philosophical questions, but she's far from the first 'living weapon' we've seen on our screens. Today, I want to compare and contrast Morgan with another living weapon, Marvel's X-23 (to appear in the third Wolverine film, believed to be called Wolverine: Weapon X). The two characters are very similar - but also surprisingly different...
With Doctor Strange on the horizon, we're used to the idea that Marvel movies are guaranteed best-sellers. That wasn't always the case, though. Back in 2008, Marvel's Iron Man was one of the riskiest films for decades. It was the first movie by an untested studio, attempting to launch a Cinematic Universe unlike any we'd seen before. Iron Man was Marvel gambling everything; it was win big, or go bust. Today, I want to cast my eye back to the history of the MCU and remind us of some of the risks Marvel took back in those early days. You might be surprised!
A casting call for Avengers: Infinity War has revealed a massive number of cast members, ranging from Chris Pratt's Star-Lord to Chris Hemsworth's Thor. While most of the names are pretty much as expected, there is one exception - Karen Gillan's Nebula!
Excitement is building for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, not least because the team dynamic is set to change - new recruits include Karen Gillan's Nebula, Pom Klementieff's Mantis, and Michael Rooker's Yondu! The film remains something of a mystery; although the trailer promises the same tone and style of Guardians of the Galaxy, we're remarkably light on plot details.
The Marvel juggernaut rolls on! Doctor Strange may still be out at the cinemas, but filming for next year's slate is currently underway. In fact, fans are currently thrilling to trailers for both Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Spider-Man: Homecoming! For all that's said, though, every eye is looking beyond even that - to Avengers: Infinity War, the crowning glory of Marvel's Phases 1-3!
