Most Anticipated Comic Book Movies
Ever since X-Men blew up in the cinema in 1999, many studios have green lit a number of comic book adaptions that have quickly become the most anticipated comic book movies. It is no surprise that DC and Marvel lead the pack and have consistently delivered faithful, and sometimes not so faithful, movie adaptions that bring out the best and worst of the critics and fans. These movies have been the staple for the summer box office, and the offerings don’t seem be stopping any time soon. Thanks to these movies, everyone knows at least a handful of comic book super heroes, and they are clamoring to see them—and Batman—fight the bad guys. From the upcoming Spiderman Homecoming to The Justice League and all the way to Deapool 2, we will take a look at some of the most anticipated comic book movies.

The Funniest Harry Potter T-Shirts
This is a pretty solid list of the funniest Harry Potter t-shirts out there, which makes me ask myself, "WHY is this all there is?" I mean really - the Harry Potter series has HUGE potential for developing funny t-shirts (which I firmly believe are one of the three most important components of anyone's wardrobe, along with "comfortable pants" and "at least one jacket that makes you look like you're ready to fly a B-52"). The business opportunity's out there, people. Somebody get busy. I personally would like to request a shirt depicting the scene where Voldemort hugs Draco. Most. awkward. hug. EVER. (What about the part where Ron forgets that he doesn't actually have a wife? What about the part where Ron dances with Professor McGonagall? What about his entire relationship with Lavender and how she calls him "Won-Won?" What about everything that Ron has ever said or done, on a t-shirt?)

Hollywood and the Red Scare: A Brief History
Films can inform, and they can also entertain. During the 1950s, however, there was a growing fear in many that communist ideals were being worked into films. Through the work of Senator Joseph McCarthy and the House of Un-American Activities Committee, accusations spread throughout the film community. Many films that did not support those ideals were falsely accused of spreading bad vibes and teaching their viewers to embrace communism.

The Fandom Dictionary
Are you fresh on the fandom scene and a little confused by all the lingo? Well, I don’t blame you, young padawn. Even if you’re overwhelmingly informed about all your favorite fictional worlds—and know how to say “Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist” in Elvish, Entish and High Valyrian—the world of fandoms has a vocabulary all it’s own, one you’ll need to know to navigate the waters safely.

Arthur Miller and Elia Kazan
For a long time, Elia Kazan and Arthur Miller were very good friends. They worked together on plays and films, as the former directed the latter’s play Death of a Salesmanon Broadway, which eventually became one of the best American plays of all time. However, the Red Scare and threat of communism had a bad reputation for destroying relationships, personal and business ones.

Movie Musicals: The Greatest form of Escapism
When I was a kid, I remember the first time I saw Singin’ in the Rain. And by seen, I mean catching a glimpse of the final scene. You know, where Cathy (Debbie Reynolds) is exposed as the voice behind Lena (Jean Hagen’s) talent, and she rushes out of the theater, only to be stopped by crowds and Don (Gene Kelly) singing to her "You are my Lucky Star". No, this particular song isn’t a showstopper, but I remember watching this final scene and realizing how badly I wanted to see the rest of the film, what brought those characters to that part. This big reveal caught my attention, along with the costumes and the set and the commotion on screen.
