The Must See Brutally Honest Summerslam 2026 Report Card

Let’s get one thing straight before we get into the grades , WWE doesn’t care how you feel about a match. Never has. They care about the finish, the reaction in the building, and whether the segment did its job. So why should your recap pretend otherwise? This isn’t going to be one of those 4,000-word breakdowns where I walk you through every rope hung DDT like it’s a film thesis. You watched the show. You know what happened. What you need from me is the verdict , not a running commentary on my own feelings.

That’s the whole philosophy behind this format , ratings only, no explanations attached. Critics love to justify themselves, love to over-narrate their own opinions like the reader can’t be trusted to fill in the blanks. I’m not doing that here. WWE deals in results , who won, who got buried, who walked out looking like a star and who got exposed. My grades reflect that same logic. Clean. Final. No appeals process.

So here’s how this works , match, grade, next match. If a bout earned an 10 , it earned it. If something flopped, the number will tell you everything you need to know. No essays, no hedging, no “but on the other hand.” Just Summerslam, graded the way WWE actually grades itself , by what happened, not by how it made anybody feel. Let’s get into it.

Summerslam Night 1 Ratings

Liv Morgan (c) defeated Iyo Sky by pinfall 10/10

LA Knight, Solo Sikoa, and Royce Keys defeated The Bloodline (Jacob Fatu, Jey Uso, and Jimmy Uso) by pinfall 7/10

Gunther defeated Nick Aldis by submission 8/10

Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, and Lainey Reid) defeated The Bella Twins (Nikki Bella and Brie Bella) and Paige by pinfall 6/10

CM Punk (c) defeated Cody Rhodes by pinfall 8/10

Oba Femi defeated Brock Lesnar (with Paul Heyman) by pinfall 7/10

Night One Final Rating = 7.67/10

SummerSlam Night 2

Kevin Owens defeated Finn Bálor, Gunther, and Sami Zayn by pinfall 9/10

Baron Corbin defeated Trick Williams (c) (with Lil Yachty) by pinfall 6/10

Chelsea Green defeated Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill, Lash Legend, and Tiffany Stratton 9/10

Danhausen defeated Dominik Mysterio 4/10

Chad Gable defeated Penta (c) by submission 10/10

Roman Reigns (c) defeated Seth Rollins by pinfall 10/10

Night 2 total rating = 8/10

Summerslam total score = 7.83/10

That’s Summerslam 2026 in the books, and the numbers speak for themselves , but a few things are worth flagging on the way out, not because I need to explain my grades, but because some performances demand acknowledgment. Night 1 belonged to Iyo Sky and Liv Morgan. No debate, no hedging , that was match of the night, full stop. When two performers go out there and tear the house down like that, the grade writes itself.

Nick Aldis stepped into the ring against Gunther and did something a lot of people didn’t expect: he made you believe. High drama, full underdog story, and he sold every second of it like a man who’s paid his dues. Good to see him get his moment and make the most of it. Meanwhile, Punk and Cody gave you exactly what Punk and Cody give you , competent, professional, nothing that’s going to live in your head past next week. The only reason anybody’s still talking about that segment is because Randy Orton showed up. That’s not a knock on the match. That’s just the truth.

Brock and Oba didn’t overstay their welcome, and that’s a compliment. Short, sweet, and it actually had some emotional weight behind it , a rare combo for a match built around big lariat-throwing monsters. Sometimes less is more, and this was one of those times.

Night 2 had its own list of statements. Kevin Owens is back, and that alone is a win for the show. Chelsea Green finally got her hand raised as Women’s Champion , a long time coming, and it landed exactly the way it should have. Chad Gable and Penta put on an absolute clinic , the kind of match that reminds you why the mid-card is sometimes the best card. And closing things out, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins delivered match of the night for Night 2, no argument necessary.

Two nights, three standout matches, a handful of statements made, and a return or two that shifted the temperature of the show. The grades tell the story. Summerslam 2026 did its job.
