Storebrand Captain America

You should not idolize John Walker in Marvel's The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Show

I think Wyatt Russell is a brilliant actor, able to convey conflicting emotions and portray a very flawed character with such accuracy that makes it all the more poignant.

That being said; Fuck John Walker.

So this new Captain America, who I will refer to by many names in this article, is a perfect soldier and that is the true difference between Steve Rogers and John Walker.

Steve Rogers was a good man, he chose a shield as his primary tool because its main purpose is to protect. It represents him as the protector for America. Steve uses it to deflect hits, become the little turtle of Justice when he can fit his whole body behind it. And he has only once raised it to inflict damage and that was on Tony Stark in Civil War. But Tony had his suit on, and Steve only gave him one good hit to incapacitate the suit he was wearing. STEVE NEVER TRIED TO INJURE TONY WITH IT. Also, at the end of that scene when Tony tells Steve that the shield doesn’t belong to him, he drops it immediately and chooses Bucky.

Had Tony not been wearing the suit, Steve would’ve just knocked him out with the shield like he has for so many other bad guys. He knew Tony could withstand whatever damage the shield would do because he was wearing the iron man suit.

Lieutenant Loser on the other hand, is a perfect soldier. They made it very clear in episode 2 that John was chosen for his physical capability and endurance and his service record. They said nothing about a psychological evaluation, which I think he would’ve passed before being dubbed the new Captain America but as soon as he put that suit on, you can tell he immediately starts to struggle with the power it gives him. He wants to prove himself, he says a few times that the medals he won he doesn’t believe he truly earned and being Captain America is his chance to prove not just to himself but to the world that he is a good man. Unfortunately this is like watching a good guy turn into a villain, he’s willing to compromise to get the outcome he wants. Steve never did, when everyone told him to sign the Sokovia Accords he refused because he knew that he could not complete a mission he didn’t believe in. Steve could take orders but if he thought that what he was ordered to do was wrong, he would do what was right. John will complete orders by any means necessary.

John and Karli have strange similarities where they’re willing to kill to get people to take them seriously. Karli however knows that she can’t keep killing, even though she told Sam that she’d kill more if she had to, I don’t believe she would. Sam is in her head now and with Captain Costco going full Negan, she’s going to think twice now about killing people.

John however, now that Hoskins is dead, I don’t think the carnage on his end will stop. And I don’t think he’ll feel bad about it. If John goes to a military trial, he won’t be found guilty and maybe get a warning or a small limitation on his tactics but we all know (at least us Americans) that it won’t make one iota of difference.

There is no illusion here. This show is a narrative on racial injustice and police brutality particularly in America right now. If a white male cop kills someone “in the name of the law” 8 times out of 10 they walk free without any reprimands. It’s sickening but it’s our reality.

Again, this is not about the actor Wyatt Russell. This is about the character of John Walker in Disney+ Flacon and the Winter Soldier. The buddy cop show I never knew I needed in life.

So, I was pissed that the government tricked Sam into turning the shield over to the Smithsonian but then gave it to some little white boy. Yes, I’m aware John Walker is like 6’3”, I don’t care. That scared little mean white boy is a jerk.

Not Wyatt Russell.

He’s an actor just doing his job and I will cherish that happy bean.

John Walker can go straight to hell, right to the level where they jam white hot pokers up your ass for all eternity.

Then I got super mad when the government gave the shield to Private Pompous and tried to pass him off as the new Captain America.

Um, no.

#NotMyCap

Steve was a kind and compassionate man who knew how to use his strength to help others, not himself.

John is a man who has always had strength and power on his side, and he will use both to make himself look like the hero.

I really hope we find out who nominated and helped John Walker become the new Captain America because I feel that that reveal will be huge. Bucky had been taking out people that used him as the Winter Soldier and turning them over to the police but he wasn’t done with his list when he went with Sam on that first mission. He also wasn’t the only Winter Soldier.

In the end, I think Bucky and Sam will be on the run. I think Sharon will double cross them. And I really hope that John Walker character dies.

Love you Wyatt Russell!
