Some Favorite Television Shows Have Been Canceled And Will Not Return in the Fall

The 2025-2026 broadcast TV season is coming to an end, and some series won't be returning in the Fall, according to PEOPLE. The list of cancellations includes both old and new programs from most of the networks that shocked and disappointed viewers.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

CBS's late-night talk show series, "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert," is canceled after the current Season 11, which ends on May 21.

Brilliant Minds

According to Deadline, "Brilliant Minds" was the lowest-rated drama on NBC's linear TV schedule, "with the steepest double-digit year-to-year declines." Therefore, the second season of the show will be the last.

Stumble

The freshman mockumentary series, "Stumble," about a cheerleading team was canceled after its first season.

Law & Order: Organized Crime

The spinoff series, "Law & Order: Organized Crime," has been canceled after five seasons.

Christopher Meloni is the lead actor in the 2021 series in the role of Elliott Stabler after leaving "Law & Order: SVU."

Elliot Stabler and Olivia Benson were official partners at the Special Victims Unit for 12 seasons (1999–2011). They worked together from the premiere of "Law & Order: SVU" until Stabler's departure at the end of Season 12.

Fans were disappointed when Elliott left. Wouldn't it be wonderful if he returned to become Oliva's partner again?

Sherri

On February 2, 2026, the daytime talk show "Sherri," hosted by Sherri Shepherd, was canceled by Debmar-Mercury after four seasons. The show will conclude following the 2025-2026 TV season, with new episodes airing through the Fall of 2026. Despite strong ratings, the cancellation is driven by the high cost of production and an evolving daytime landscape.

On Feb. 9, Shepherd spoke at length about the cancellation on the first episode of her talk show after hearing the news. She said she is disappointed and is not going away without a fight.

"I want to be clear: I'm not ready to throw in the towel on this show just yet. I'm not. I'm not. We're gonna be airing episodes all through the fall. And we're going to continue to fight to keep this show alive in some way, shape, or form. If anybody knows me, they know I'm a fighter. I don't know exactly what it's going to look like, but I promise, I am going to continue to spread joy."

Going Dutch

"Going Dutch" was canceled after two seasons. The comedy, which starred Denis Leary, aired its final episode on April 23. Fox has not released an official reason for the cancellation, but Deadline reported that it was the "lowest-rated entertainment program on the network."

Access Hollywood and Access Daily

In March 2026, it was announced that "Access Hollywood" had been canceled after nearly 30 years on the air. The entertainment news program first debuted in 1996, and is ending after the current season 19. The companion series, "Access Daily," has been canceled after the current season 16.

Karamo

"Queer Eye" star Karamo Brown's talk show, "Karamo," will not be returning for a fifth season. The news of the cancellation came a few months after "Queer Eye" debuted its tenth and final season on Netflix.

The Steve Wilkos Show

"The Steve Wilkos Show" was canceled after 19 seasons on the air. It debuted in 2007. It was the second-longest-running daytime talk show in production.

The Kelly Clarkson Show

In February 2026, Kelly Clarkson announced that 'The Kelly Clarkson Show' would end after seven seasons. New episodes will continue to air through the Fall season.

The Emmy winner also said that "stepping away from the daily schedule" will allow her to prioritize her family.

All American

The CW drama series is canceled after Season 8.

The Bear

FX dramedy series is canceled after Season 5.
