The Lion King. A movie loosely based on Hamlet told with talking animals in a Lion Kingdom in Africa. Sarabi gives birth to a cub, named Simba, who is next in line to become King. This disappoints Scar, Mufasa's brother, so he sets out to kill Simba. Scar one day takes Simba out in the pride lands where he sets up for a pack of wildebeests for a stampede, Simba is caught up in the stampede and Mufasa tries to save him, but dies in the process. Scar tells Simba that it is his fault that his father died and tells him to runaway and never return, so he does. Several years later, Nala, one of the lionesses, is roaming through the jungle where she finds Simba. She persuades him to return home to become the rightful King of Pride Rock. He, Timon and Pumbaa, the two that helped bring him up, and Nala all return to Pride Rock. He fights with Scar who meets his death and Simba becomes King of Pride Rock. A happy ending for all, well, all except from Scar that is. The movie is an absolute classic with many unforgettable songs. It does however contain some scenes that are a little disturbing and traumatizing that has left people of all ages with nightmares over the past twenty years.

1. Scar

2. The Hyenas

3. Mufasa's Death

1. Scar

Scar is the main antagonist of the movie. He is Mufasa's brother who is jealous of Simba who is next in line to become King of Pride Rock. He sets out on a mission to kill Mufasa, but not before he sings his own song, Be Prepared. A dark, sinister song showing his dark side and that he wants to be King of Pride Rock and he will stop at nothing to do so. This is the face of a lion you don't want to mess with.

Scar gets his hyenas to lead a stampede down a valley which kills Mufasa, he then makes it look like Simba has killed him and tells him to run away and never return. Scar feels that he has completed his mission that he has got rid of Simba so easily. Having his brother killed is one thing, but making a child look like he has killed is father is just immoral. Scar really is the King of Evil.

2. The Hyenas

The hyenas, Scar's faithful sidekicks. This frightening group of creatures followed Scar and nearly had Simba killed. Their faceless appearance through Scar's song Be Prepared certainly started to scare its audience and certainly pushed people overboard towards the end of the movie when Scar took over Pride Rock. Their yellow eyes and cheeky grins are enough to give you nightmares at a young age.

At the end of the movie they turned out the heroes when they killed Scar, thank you Hyenas for bringing justice to Mufasa.

3. Mufasa's Death

Mufasa's death. One of the most traumatising moments ever in Disney. It had people of all ages crying. Scar truly is the King of all Evil. Planning your nephews death and getting your sidekicks to kill is quite a low thing to do. Scar had the whole thing planned out well, lure Simba into the valley, make a stampede of Wildebeest plough through, call Mufasa to help and knock him off a cliff to his death.

The whole stampede scene is a gut wrenching tearful jerking moment that no one can ever forget. Scar pins Mufasa to the cliff and whispers into Mufasa's ear those famous four words, 'Long live the king!' and watches as he falls to his death. Simba's scream will certainly echo in your brain for years to come. After the stampede parts Simba jumps down to curl next to his dead father for the final time before Scar tells him to 'Runaway and never return'. A scene that will certainly leaving you feel traumatised and sorry for Simba.
