So a month or so ago I gave a rundown of Oscar nominations and predictions as well as my personal hopes. So here we go, it's Oscar night and these are the winners and my thoughts. These will really only be the categories I personally care about and not all 24 categories but it will be most of them.

Supporting Actor : Ke Huy Quan

This was so deserved and the announcers, audiences and his reaction shows that. His acceptance speech and me and many others in tears and I could not be happier for him.

Supporting Actress: Jamie Lee Curtis

Another category that had no wrong answers, so many incredible women. A total shock to me that this was Jamie’s first nomination but because of that I am so so happy that she won. She was shocked and humble and I love her.

Cinematography: All Quiet On The Western Front

Mkay…um with Empire of Light and TAR right there this was not a well deserved win. I didn’t even like TAR as a film but the only engaging part about it was the cinematography. And Empire of Light was one of the most gorgeous pieces of media ever caught on film.

Break in the action to say that All Quiet on the Western Front deserved none of the awards it won. Best score should have gone to Babylon or The Fablemans. Production Design should have gone to Babylon or Elvis. All Quiet is a remake of a remake of a book adaptation and not a single original thought was executed. The academy could not have been more up that mediocre films ass and it's ridiculous.

Visual Effects: Avatar the Way of Water

Now this was the only nomination that Avatar got that they actually deserved. The storytelling was not good, and it's not worthy of anything else. However the visual effects were in fact stunning and it deserved the win.

Original Screenplay: Everything Everywhere All At Once

This was one of the happiest moments of the night for me. The movie was truly brilliant and it captured so many emotions. I loved this film so much and clearly so did the audience. No film nominated deserved the oscar more than this one.

Adapted Screenplay: Women Talking

I really didn’t think it was going to win, but I am so so happy that it got the recognition that it deserves. There was no more socially impactful film last year. Women Talking an incredibly important story and it did it in a way that was quiet and gentle and heartbreaking. And it deserves all the recognition.

Directing: Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert

I am so happy that Everything Everywhere All At Once is getting the professional recognition that it deserves. These men accomplished something so beautiful with this film and it is undoubtedly the best film of the year.

Lead Actor: Brenden Fraser

Oh I could not be happier for this sweet treasure of a man. He deserves everything and you could feel the support and love in that room. Everyone was happy for his success and he was phenomenal.

Lead Actress: Michelle Yeoh

She was so incredible in Everything Everywhere All At Once and she was the only correct answer for this category. The Oscars are finally starting to gain back their credibility with these last few awards.

Best Picture: Everything Everywhere All At Once

The Oscars have officially gained merit back. I feel unspeakable joy that it won as many Oscars as it did because I know how emotionally impactful it was for not just me but for many others as well.

Overall the Oscars awarded people and projects that deserved it but as always there were some snubs, mostly for the genre films because the Academy’s pretentious members can not look past superpowers to award incredible acting and storytelling.
