Gal Gadot, the Israeli-born Israeli Defense Forces fighter/trainer turned model and actress, should brace herself; she's going to be associated with the role of Wonder Woman for a good long while.

Gadot's role as Wonder Woman in Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice has been widely hailed as one of the best in the film, and there's a league or more of fans waiting for her standalone project Wonder Woman to hit theaters this June. If fans are hungry for more Wonder Woman, they've also got Justice League coming out in November of this year.

The third and final trailer to be released just hit the internet and television screens March 11, and it's pretty exciting. We get to see more of Themyscira, the island that Diana Prince, princess of the Amazons, is from. We also see Queen Hippolyta (Connie Neilsen, because who else could you get to play such an empowered and vital matriarch?), Diana's mother and the woman convinced that her daughter needs incredible amounts of training so that she is unconquerable. Who better to take on said training than General Antiope (Robin Wright)? Antiope gives Diana such a hard time for expecting a battle or fight to be fair that Diana originally feels overwhelmed - at least, that's how it seems to be in the trailer - but when Antiope ultimately strikes her indestructible bracelets (depicted as armbands in the trailer), this is enough for Diana to realize that she has been given incredible gifts.

With Gadot's beauty and her past work as a member of the Israeli Defense Forces, it's small wonder that she made the shortlist for the role of the Amazonian warrior; it's one that fits her well, and while Warner Bros. and the DC Extended Universe has not really done exceptionally well in putting together films that resonate with audiences on the same level that the Marvel movies have done, Wonder Woman could be the exception in this case.

Expectations are riding high for this film, as it could mean that Wonder Woman could be the game changer that Warner Bros. means as far as its movie adaptations of DC Comics characters go. While there are several still on the slate for the coming years - Justice League, Cyborg, The Flash, The Batman and Aquaman to name a few - it's Wonder Woman that could finally bring the DC Comics characters to the forefront of moviegoers' minds.

Wonder Woman hits theaters June 2, 2017.
