My Top 9 Favorite TV Shows

These TV shows left interesting impressions on me.

In a recent post titled Top 20 Movies Gamers Might Love, I spoke about 20 exciting movies which any type of gamer might love.

This time, I’d like to share my opinions on the best shows I’ve ever seen.

They are in no particular order.

1 — Breaking Bad

Breaking Bad is a crime drama that follows the story of Walter White, a high school chemistry teacher struggling to make ends meet for his family. After being diagnosed with terminal cancer, he decides to use his knowledge of chemistry to start producing and selling methamphetamine with the help of a former student, Jesse Pinkman.

Over the course of the series, Walter transforms from a mild-mannered and ethical man into a ruthless drug kingpin who will stop at nothing to protect his empire. Along the way, he must navigate the dangerous and unpredictable world of drug trafficking, all while trying to keep his criminal activities a secret from his wife and children.

The show is known for its exceptional writing, attention to detail, and character development, as well as its darkly comic tone and stunning cinematography. The show’s exploration of the American dream, family, and morality has been widely praised, and its central character, Walter White, has become one of the most iconic and complex characters in television history.

Breaking Bad has won numerous awards, including 16 Primetime Emmy Awards, and has been regarded as one of the greatest television dramas. The show’s popularity has only grown since its initial broadcast and continues to be a pop culture staple.

2 — Prison Break

Prison Break is an American television series that initially aired from 2005 to 2009, with a revival season that aired in 2017.

The show was created by Paul Scheuring and stars Wentworth Miller as Michael Scofield, an engineer who purposely gets himself incarcerated in a maximum security prison to break out his younger brother, Lincoln Burrows (played by Dominic Purcell), who has been sentenced to death for a crime he did not commit.

Throughout the series, Michael, Lincoln, and a group of fellow inmates work to escape prison and clear Lincoln’s name. Along the way, they must navigate the dangerous and corrupt world of prison politics and avoid the clutches of the prison’s warden and the mysterious company that may be behind Lincoln’s false conviction.

Prison Break is known for its complex and fast-paced storytelling, intricate plot, and strong character development.

The show was popular during its initial run and has since developed a cult following. The series also garnered positive reviews for its strong acting, particularly from its lead actors, and its ability to keep audiences on the edge of their seats with its numerous twists and turns.

3 — Lucifer

Lucifer is an American television series that aired on Fox in 2016 and was later picked up by Netflix for its fourth, fifth, and sixth seasons. The show was created by Tom Kapinos and is based on the character from DC Comics.

The series stars Tom Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar, the Devil himself, who becomes bored with his life in Hell and decides to vacation in Los Angeles, where he opens a nightclub and becomes a consultant to the LAPD.

Throughout the series, Lucifer is drawn into solving various crimes with the help of LAPD detective Chloe Decker (played by Lauren German), and as he grows closer to her, he begins to question his own identity and motivations. The show explores themes of good and evil, redemption, and relationships, as well as incorporating elements of supernatural and fantasy.

Lucifer is known for its distinctive style, blending humor, drama, and the supernatural, and strong character development and chemistry between its lead actors. The show has been widely praised for its writing, particularly its witty dialogue and character arcs, and has developed a dedicated fanbase.

With its unique premise and charismatic lead, Lucifer has become one of the standout shows in the current television landscape and continues to be a favorite among audiences.

4 — The Umbrella Academy

The Umbrella Academy is a Netflix original TV show based on the comic book series of the same name created by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá. The show is a superhero fiction drama that follows the story of seven adopted siblings with extraordinary powers trained by their eccentric father to save the world.

However, as adults, the siblings have grown apart and are brought back together by the death of their father, which sets the stage for a reunion filled with drama, mystery, and action.

Each sibling has a unique power, ranging from controlling space and time to telekinesis and levitation, and their abilities are tested when they must work together to prevent a global apocalypse.

The show is set in a world similar to our own but with a dark and fantastical twist and features an eclectic cast of characters, including a talking chimpanzee, time-traveling assassins, and a mysterious organization that is determined to stop the siblings at all costs.

The Umbrella Academy is known for its compelling storyline, stylish visual effects, and intriguing characters that keep the audience engaged and entertained. The show mixes humor, drama, and action and tackles family, loss, and responsive themes.

It has been praised by audiences and critics alike for its unique approach to the superhero genre and has quickly become one of the most popular shows on Netflix.

5 — The 100

The 100 is a science fiction television series aired on The CW network in 2014. The show is set in a post-apocalyptic world where the remnants of humanity live in a space station called The Ark. After being told that the Earth has become habitable again, a group of 100 delinquent teenagers is sent back to the surface to test its viability and pave the way for the rest of the population.

Once on the ground, the teenagers face new and dangerous challenges as they try to survive and establish a new society. They must navigate complex political dynamics, deal with scarce resources, and face off against both external threats, such as hostile groups of Grounders, and internal strife as they attempt to maintain order and unity among themselves.

The show is known for its strong character development, fast-paced action, and political intrigue. The 100 offers a unique perspective on the classic post-apocalyptic genre, with its focus on the coming-of-age stories of its young characters and the ethical dilemmas they face.

6 — Black Mirror

Black Mirror is a science fiction anthology television series that explores technology's dark and often dystopian aspects and impact on society. Each episode is a standalone story that takes place in a different world with its unique characters, but all are linked by their examination of the relationship between technology and humanity.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine is a comedy with heart, balancing its humor and hijinks with more serious and emotional moments that delve into the lives and relationships of its characters. 8 — The Good Place

9 — BoJack Horseman
