My top 10 YA book recommendatios

Let's face it: there are many MANY Young Adult books out there, especially now! Whether you find them on Kindle or in physical form, they are everywhere. But why is this genre of reading material so popular? Well my answer is because YA usually provides us with everything we crave: Youth, adventure, romance, fantasy, and just mainly a world that takes us out of our own. So as an avid book-reader, what YA books would I recommend? Here are my top 10.

10. The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis

I know, I know, it's kind of a "duh" but really, this series is so amazing in the fact that it really reminds you of your childhood and the adventures we all (at one point or another) wanted to experience.

9. Capt. Hook by J.V. Hart

This book is such a hidden gem and quite frankly, I'm very surprised no one talks about it more. Such an underrated goodie! If you like villian back-stories, you will LOVE this book!

8. The Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo

If cuteness were a book, this would be it. A tale about a big-eared mouse, this book sets you on the sweetest little adventure. If I had to associate one word with it, I would say Hygge. So cuddle up by the fire and get lost in this adorable tale.

7. The Giver by Lois Lowry

I have never been a huge fan of the more Sci-Fi books, but this one got me. It was made into a movie in 2014 so it's got to be at least a little good right? Just kidding, of course it is! This one will really make you see the world differently.

6. Vampire Kisses by Ellen Schreiber

Yes, the vampire book era seems to be dead now but you can bring it back to life (puns very much intended)! A series about a cool little goth girl who meets a mysterious neighbor. It's a really good little series that every misfit can relate too.

5. Fallen by Lauren Kate

Another overlooked book subject in my humble opinion would be that of Angels & Demons. This series has everything, true love, adventure, danger, humor, and best of all mystery. You won't know what to expect from the plot and you'll have a ton of fun guessing as to what will happen next!

4. The House of Night book series by P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast

Another vampire series that combines the sexy deadliness of vamps with the magic and mystery of witchcraft! This series has had me hooked since 2010. It just may be the series that brings vampire myth back into interest.

3. The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer

ERMERGHERD! I'll try to talk about this series without spazzing out but you have GOT to try reading this one! A mix of fairytales and sci-fi, this series had me hooked so deeply that I finished all 6 books in a week and a half. It truly would have been 4 days if I hadn't slowed myself down. Everyone will find a character they love in this series and the plot line is just muah (insert chefs kiss here).

2. The Infernal Devices series by Cassandra Clare

I don't even know where to start on this one. It's seriously that good! Yes, another love triangle, but no matter what romance lovers will be satisfied with the outcome of these incredible, adventure filled books. Cassandra Clare hands-down captures and conveys emotions that one has never experienced before.

And finally my number one series! These books are so freaking amazing! From the characters to the unbelievably immersive and detailed world Cassandra Clare creates, you literally cannot be bored reading any part of this series. Everything about it reels you in and gets you begging to go deeper into the story. Strap on your seat belt, here comes a wild ride!

Ok, so my list turned into more of a book series list rather than a singular book list but that's ok! More books to love and there's nothing wrong with that.

Each and every one of these books has shaped who I am in one form or another and I can guarantee that you'll love at least one of the choices on this list. Books are the portals to other worlds which in my opinion makes them the most potent and beautiful magic. So go look into one of these babies and enjoy!
