My Review of "Silicon Valley: Season 6"

The concluding season to a fantastic comedy series.

I've been a fan of Silicon Valley since the first episode. It told so many truths that we didn't realize were so funny. They used all of the characters' egos as fuel for the comedic situations that they continually got themselves into. In a male dominated as the tech industry is, it only makes their stories that more realistic.

Season 5 finished up as if it could have been the very final season but they had a few episodes left in them. This season is more of an epilogue told in flashbacks. A very intelligent way of sending this franchise off. They planned the last 7 episodes very well. Admittedly, I didn't find this season the funniest but I don't think it was meant to be. It's a final farewell so there's a few references to the past and to make fun of itself.

So the crew finally did it. They're on top of the tech industry and they're the fair maiden that everyone wants to win over. Of course Richard is going to be put into big dilemmas. He thought he was going through some crazy situations in the past when Pied Piper was just a little company that no one ever heard of. Now that he's the leader of the tech industry, he's target number one for every villain out there.

I like how they spun the story around where in past seasons they're always placed in a horrible situation that they have to get out of. This season they're already on top and can only go down. Knowing Richard, that of course isn't a difficult job. His neurotic overthinking of situations always gets them into some sort of mess but do they ruin their success or do they actually stay on top?

All of the characters stayed true to their characters throughout the season and throughout the series. I really liked the consistency of the way the characters were portrayed in the last season. They all played like puzzle pieces to the giant puzzle that evolved into the finale.

The last episodes sort of tell us where everyone ends up because they're telling the story of Pied Piper through their interviews. I think everyone is anticipating on Erlich to make a final appearance since he was missing all season 5. They play around with that story as well.

Speaking of appearances, there are a lot of cameos. They surprisingly got a lot of special cameo of Bill Gates as himself. It was a really funny cameo.

I know I'm going to miss this series because it felt like a comedy that was based on so many truths. Even though I don't work in the tech industry the characters of series still resonated with me because I for sure know people that are exactly like the characters in the show. You can tell that all of the situations in the show have probably happened in real life and we were none the wiser.

Overall, I had a great time with this season. It was a fantastic way for this series to say farewell. I felt a sense of closure and satisfaction at the end even though it wasn't necessarily the optimal ending for the characters. It's not supposed to be a happy ending considering how each season played out. We didn't expect it either. I have to give this season an 8.5 out of 10. I will continue to suggest this series to people that haven't seen this series yet. You have to watch it as soon as you can or else the show will show its age.
