Missing Comic Con?

We all know that San Diego Comic Con is the hottest ticket in town, selling out in a matter of minutes for the last decade or so SDCC remains a popular place for nerds. That said, like a Taylor Swift concert, most people that want to go simply cannot. The demand is too high but that doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy plenty of nerdy related things from the comfort of home. So if you are bummed about missing SDCC, believe me I understand, I was missing out for years but you can still enjoy the weekend. Here’s all the things you can do to feel connected to this year's SDCC.

Good Omens is coming out with its second season and as such the cast and creator will be at SDCC granting us with a panel. I personally just binged the whole first season and if you are missing the nerd weekend I would highly recommend doing the same in anticipation for the second season that is set to release the week after comic con. You could always, of course, also re-read the book.

Invincible is also set for its second season and as such is getting lots of attention at the con. It is also something that I just watched for the first time and would re-binge again. The 8 episode season is super easy to binge in a single day so it's a great way to spend time not at comic con. You can and should also pick up all of the omnibus’ and see where the next season is headed.

If you are a fan of the nerd queen Felicia Day I can assume you are bummed about missing her panel but she also has plenty of content for you to consume. The 7th season of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, The Guild, Mystery Science Theater 3000, Supernatural and Doctor Horrible’s Sing Along Blog are all ready to be consumed if you can’t make it to her panels.

The McElroy family will also be making an appearance at the con because of the amount of content that they have available to people. I would personally recommend The Adventure Zone (their very first arc is my favorite and it has comic book adaptations now) and My Brother, My Brother, and Me is a hilarious brain break.

Once More With Feeling is getting an interactive screening but nothing is more interactive than watching it at home and singing along as loud as you want. My father and I have watched that specific episode more times than I can count and I would just watch this on repeat for a whole day.

Con Man is a short series that contains so many nerdy things we love, the most important of those being Alan Tudyk. The series also features Nathan Fillion, Felicia Day and many more. So if you are stuck at home I would recommend the show Con Man which I do believe is on YouTube and Amazon Prime for free.

The last thing you can and should do to stay connected to SDCC this year is follow Temple Of Geek on all social media where we will be posting videos and live tweeting. Twitter, Instagram and TikTok will contain all the best parts of the panels and the con as a whole. So if you want nothing more than to stay connected to the con this year then absorb some content while at home and pay attention to your socials and we will do our best to make sure that you don’t miss anything important!
