You can never tell where the first words of a story will lead.

Miss Potter is a 2006 film. This film explores the life of Beatrix Potter, the author of the beloved and best-selling children’s book, ‘The Tale of Peter Rabbit.’ Potter argues against love, but someone may change her viewpoint.

This is a sweet film! I cannot believe I never treasured Peter Rabbit as a child. Miss Potter is an imaginative film about the life of Beatrix Potter. This is a heartwarming story about following your passions and listening to your voice.

Renee Zellweger is lively in the part of Beatrix Potter. Beatrix always had a unique and innovative personality. The way she talked to her drawings was adorable. I used to do that! In a time when women had to follow strict orders, Beatrix boldly led her own way. With triumphs and tragedy, Beatrix’s optimism never dims.

One of the film's strengths lies in its depiction of Beatrix’s blossoming relationship with her publisher, Norman Warne, played by Ewan McGregor. McGregor and Zellweger had great chemistry. Norman Warne helps Beatrix see her publishing dreams through. He also broadens her mind about romance. Always give love a chance.

Beatrix’s friendship with Millie (Emily Watson) is sweet. As two women who refused to marry, I liked their conversations whenever they met up. Millie deserves the Best Supportive Friend award. She is there for Beatrix when she needs consoling.

Beatrix and her mother (Barbara Flynn) never saw eye-to-eye. Her mother disapproved of everything, making it hard for Beatrix to live her life. While I found her opinions annoying, Beatrix never let her mother’s negativity get her down. They implemented a deal that didn’t phase their relationship.

Miss Potter contains a good cast of actors. Credits also include Bill Patterson, Phyllida Law, David Bamber, and the debut of Lucy Boyton as young Beatrix. Boyton also did a wonderful job of capturing Beatrix’s lively spirit, especially when she ran after a bunny.

The artist’s storyline immediately attracted my interest. All the original drawings from Potter’s stories were used in the film. My favorite bits were the whimsical animation of Potter’s drawings. That was a nice touch. Lead animation director, Alyson Hamilton eagerly approached the film. She drew traditional, hand-drawn animation on paper and kept it with Potter’s style.

Chris Noonan expressed the aesthetic of the art world. This film had a powerful imagination. Miss Potter not only celebrates Beatrix Potter's artistic achievements but also serves as a subtle commentary on the importance of allowing women to chart their paths.

Noonan and his crew dictated an incredible time to Potter’s life. To match the story’s period, costume designer, Anthony Powell found original pieces for the movie.

This film also highlights the importance of children’s books. You can tell I’m like Beatrix when I was excited to see how the publishing industry worked in the 1800s. We need to tell stories. Miss Potter was a history lesson for me. I researched more on Potter’s life as soon as the film concluded.

Beatrix Potter left an inspiring impact on the world. She taught women to lead their own way. Nobody’s dreams are ever unworthy. You must follow your path because opportunities aren’t going to fall into your hands. Try out different projects and see where they lead. Keep telling your stories to the world because you never know what kind of impact they’ll make.

Miss Potter is a creative biopic. I loved every moment of this film. I didn’t expect it to be a tearjerker. It’s an enlightening story that you must watch.
