Experts missed the mark by matching Paige and Chris!

What were the experts on Married at First Sight thinking when they matched Chris Williams and Paige Banks? Surely, it is not a marriage made in heaven. Viewers knew from the start that there would be trouble because of Chris' attitude toward his new wife.

Every season there is drama between some of the couples, and this season is no exception. However, viewers can't help from feeling sorry for Paige who is in a predicament that was not of her own choosing.

Chris and Paige said they matched on paper, but not so much in real life. Even the experts agree with that assessment now. They said they matched the couple because of the religious beliefs and their successful career paths. However, a red flag should have gone up over another matter.

Red Flag

Chris was matched to marry Paige after he had broken off tw0 engagements. The last engagement ended only three months before Chris met Paige for the first time at the altar. No one has to be an expert to know that it was too soon for Chris to sign up for the show and get married. Chris had not been emotionally healed from his last broken relationships, and it was unfair for him and definitely unfair for Paige for them to marry.

About Chris Williams

Chris comes from a family of ministers. His father is a preacher and Chris used to be an ordained minister himself, but he gave it up because he said there was not enough money in it to support his lifestyle. However, he said he wanted a Christian wife. He said Paige is matched with him in that department. Paige is a 26-year-old successful accountant and a realtor who bought her own house when she was only 20. With all those good things going for Paige, Chris confessed he is not 100 percent attracted to her. He also admitted that she is not like the women he has dated in the past.

Before the wedding, Chris said he hoped he had been matched with a beautiful woman like he had been accustomed to dating. It is ironic that while waiting for Paige to walk down the aisle, the 27-year-old groom went over to Paige's mother and whispered in her ear, "You are beautiful." When Paige walked down the aisle, the expression on Chris' face indicated that he did not like the way she looked. He admitted, "When I saw her initially, it was like, 'Oh f**k! This is different from what I was used to!'"

After they were pronounced husband and wife and had their first conversation, several more red flags were evident. Chris mentioned his ex-fiancée several times. He also dived right in and asked Paige if she was a virgin and if she was taking contraceptives. The minister during the ceremony said Chris wanted a "honeymoon baby." Chris also began talking about having babies even before Paige knew his last name.

Chris did not hold his tongue when he talked to Paige's bridesmaids during the reception. He told them that Paige was "no trophy wife." He said other things that caused them to be very suspicious of him.

Chris' Father

During their first meeting, Chris' father advised Paige to be available for Chris whenever he came home from work. Paige knew that was what Chris was all about because they didn't hesitate to consummate their marriage on their wedding night and the next morning. Paige told Chris' family that she was confused that he was intimate with her twice in such a short period of time but he disappeared for three hours afterward and she did not know where he was.

Paige admitted to Pastor Calvin Roberson that she and her new husband had been intimate every day of their marriage without either of them using contraceptives.

About Chris and His Ex-Fiancée

A teaser has been shown of Chris crying saying, "She is pregnant." That has fans wondering if Paige or Chris' ex-fiancée Mercedes Myrick is the one who is pregnant with his child.

According to Distractify, Chris and Mercedes began dating in October 2019 and became engaged in February 2020. Married at First Sight began casting in March 2020, a month after Chris' engagement. Photos of their engagement party are on Facebook. There is also evidence on Facebook that Chris and Mercedes were still together in late June 2020 after they both were tested positive for COVID-19 and were quarantined together. Paige and Chris' wedding was filmed in August 2020. Shouldn't the experts have known this before they sent Chris and Paige to the altar?

Fans Are Outraged

Fans believe Chris left his fiancée just to be on the show. They are not pleased with the way Chris is treating his new wife. In fact, longtime fans are outraged. They are outraged at Chris, and they are outraged at the experts. They are demanding justice for Paige. Many viewers believe the experts matched Chris and Paige for ratings. Some wrote on the show's Instagram page, " Paige deserved better. Seems like her happiness was compromised for ratings."

Pastor Calvin Roberson insisted that the experts matched the couple as best as they could. He responded to the criticisms by saying, "Thank you for caring for Paige. We do also, and she knows it since we're in communication with her. Ratings are never more important than our couples."

Fans are hoping Paige will call off the marriage without allowing herself to go through more humiliation on Married at First Sight. She didn't sign up for the marriage she is getting.
