"Married at First Sight" Season 12: Meet the Five Atlanta Couples

Season 12 of Married at First Sight premiered with five new couples on Lifetime on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. The new season was filmed in Atlanta, Georgia during the pandemic.

Two things are new and have never been featured on the previous eleven seasons. It is the first to have an interracial couple. Also, it is the first time a divorcee has been married on the show.

Clara and Ryan

Clara is a 27-year-old flight attendant. She is tired of dating and is serious about making her marriage to a stranger work.

Ryan is a 29-year-old project manager for a software company. Like his wife, he is ready for marriage. He believes he can succeed at being married because his parents have been married for over three decades and are great examples.

Clara and Ryan are the first interracial couple in the history of the show. Both of them indicated to the experts that they were willing to marry outside of their race. Clara said that if all her ex-lovers were in the same room, it would look like the United Nations. Ryan said most of his dates have been with White women.

Briana and Vincent

Briana is a 28-year-old successful engineer. She says she is done with dating and wants to start the next chapter of her life. She believes the experts have matched her with someone who shares the same core values that she has.

The engineer is willing to give the experiment her all. She knows she has to be careful because she is accustomed to maintaining a structured and organized household. She is hoping her husband is the same way.

Vincent is a 28-year-old auto broker . He was heartbroken because he was ready for marriage in a past relationship, but it didn't work out. His girlfriend wasn't supportive of him starting his own business. Besides, she frowned upon him because he doesn't have a college degree. Despite his heartbreak, he hasn’t given up on his dream of being happily married. Vincent hopes the experts have found him his lifelong partner who accepts him and his Dominican culture.

Haley and Jacob

Haley is a 28-year-old account executive. She owns her home and has a dog. She admits she has trust issues, but she is hoping she can overcome them with Jacob who is ten years older. She is thinking there must be valid reasons why the experts matched her with a much older man.

The account executive says she is ready to be a bride after having been a bridesmaid 14 times. Haley admits she is working on some trust issues from her last relationship and hopes Jacob is the partner she needs to support her.

Jacob is a 38-year-old IT analyst . Like many of the others on this season's show, he said he is tired of dating. He wants children and hopes his new wife feels the same way.

Paige and Chris

Paige is a 25-year-old successful IT analyst . Three years ago when she was only twenty-two years old, she purchased her own house. She believes the experts could find her a better match than she could find one on her own. She believes there is a generational curse in her family for having failed marriages. Therefore, she is determined to be the first in her family to have a successful marriage.

Chris is a 27-year-old finance manager . He married Paige when he met her for the first time at the altar. His family and friends think it was too soon for Chris to get married because it has been only three months since he called off his second engagement. People think the experts should have seen this as a red flag.

Chris's friends think he is "too picky." He is well-dressed and tends to want things his way, including having seven children and a submissive wife who doesn't want him for his money. Chris comes from a family of pastors. In fact, he said he was an ordained pastor himself, but he gave it up because there was not enough money in it.

Even though Chris no longer works as a pastor, he still has Christian values. He and Paige have that in common. Being matched with a God-fearing husband was the first characteristic on her list that she gave the experts.

This is the couple to watch because Paige might not agree to all that Chris wants from their marriage. After all, she is a strong, successful woman who doesn't seem to fit in a submissive mold. Besides, she might not want seven children.

Virginia and Erik

Virginia is a 26-year-old account coordinator. She hasn’t had successful relationships in the past. The experts think she and Erik are a good match for each other. So far, viewers don't agree.

Erik is a 34-year-old pilot and the first divorcee on Married at First Sight. While the pilot is ready to start the next chapter of his life with a family, his much younger wife might not be at the place in her life yet.

Virginia admits she loves going out to bars, concerts, and other places to have fun. Erik is just the opposite. He is a homebody when he is not flying around the world. His first marriage did not work out because he was frequently away from home. It is surprising that the three experts matched a fun-loving 26-year-old woman with a 34-year-old divorced pilot. That marriage might be doomed from the beginning.
