Married at First Sight returns to Lifetime for season 10 on New Year's Day, January 1, 2020 at 8 PM. There are five new couples who say, "I do" the first time they meet at the altar in Washington, DC. The newlyweds will spend their wedding night together in a hotel. They will leave the next day for their honeymoon to some exotic place.

When the series first began, the couples went to different destinations, but in the last seasons, they have been spending their honeymoon in the same place. After the honeymoon is over, the couples must live together for eight weeks. After that time, they will decide whether they want to stay married or get a divorce.

It is very interesting to see how the couples relate as they navigate through marriage with someone they just met.

What's New This Season?

For the first time, there are five couples. There were only three couples in the first seven seasons. Then in seasons eight and nine, there were four couples. The episodes for the new season will be two hours long instead of just one hour.

The same experts return to counsel the new cast. Sociologist Dr. Pepper Schwartz is the only expert who has been with the series since it began in July 2014. Pastor and marriage counselor Calvin Roberson is returning after having been an expert on the show for several seasons. Relationship expert Dr. Viviana Coles will work with the couples during her second season on the show.

Meet the Couples

The public will get to know the couples better when Married at First Sight premieres on the first day of the new year. In the meantime, here is a glimpse of who the couples are.

Jessica Studer and Austin Hurd

Jessica and Austin are both 31 years old. Jessica is a nurse who says she is the last single person in her family to get married. The Ohio native has an identical twin sister who is already married. Jessica's parents have been married for over 35 years. Austin is a sports fanatic from Maryland. He says he has been ready for marriage but has not been able to find the right person.

Taylor Dunklin and Brandon Reid

Taylor is a research scientist who was born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. She says she is ready for marriage because that is the only thing she doesn't have that she wants. She is 27 and has been matched with Brandon, 34.

Brandon is a sales manager who was born and raised in the Washington, DC area, but his family is originally from the US Virgin Islands. He is ready to marry a woman who shares the same family values he has. Brandon says he hasn't been able to find a mate on his own. Therefore, he is trusting the experts to find the perfect match for him.

Meka Jones and Michael Watson

Meka is from Baltimore, Maryland. The 25-year-old category analyst says she is ready to begin the next stage of her life. That includes getting married. The experts have matched her with Michael who is a 31-year-old native of Washington, DC. The education director says he is ready to get married to the right person.

Mindy Shiben and Zach Justice

Mindy is a native of Frederick, Maryland. The 34-year-old figure skating coach spent years in the Air Force after high school. Even though her parents divorced when she was 10 years old, she is ready to get married to the right man.

Zach, 32, runs a lifestyle business to help clients transform physically and mentally. He was born in St. Mary’s, Georgia and raised with traditional Southern values. Even though his parents divorced, it has not stopped him from wanting to get married.

Katie Conrad and Derek Sherman

Katie was born and raised in Woodbridge, Virginia. She saw domestic violence in her household between her parents. Therefore, the 25-year-old mental health professional is cautious about who she chooses as a partner.

Derek was born and raised in Maryland in a tight-knit military family. His parents are divorced, but that hasn't kept the 26-year-old cyber security engineer from wanting to be married.
